BLZBNTBNA00000005 (Battle.net Agent Went to Sleep)

I recently replaced my router because Xfinity made me 2 days ago. Now, when I start battlenet on any game, I am greeted with this error: BLZBNTBNA00000005 (Battle.net Agent Went to Sleep). I have been able to stop it from happening temporarily by doing the following:

  1. stop battlenet processes in task manager
  2. delete battlenet folders in %APPDATA% and ProgramData
  3. ipconfig release, ipconfig renew, flush DNS
  4. reboot

Note that reinstalling battlenet (with and without the above steps), making firewall exceptions, disabling AV, and creating an adminstrator-priviledge windows account did not make a difference.

Once I perform all these steps, I can start and login to a game. I can’t install new games or play more than one game. If I try any of that, I get a notice that battlenet has encountered an error and I need to restart it or my PC.

However, even after taking all those steps listed above, it has the same issue upon reboot. I have to go through those steps each time I want to play anything on battlenet on a fresh login or after changing games, as well as do login credentials and 2 step authentication.

UPDATE 4/2/23
When I went into my agent logs, it had errors relating to WOW Classic WOTLK. So I deleted it and deleted wow, uninstalled battle net, cleared my %appdata% folders and programdata from all battle.net references. Seems to work so far upon reinstall. Hopefully this fixed it, but boy does it suck for anyone on a metered or slow connection!
