Blizzard's Terrible Servers

I have been playing all day and it kicked me off and sent me to a queue. COD has 30-50+GB updates constantly and I bought the game full price expecting it to work but you don’t have the bandwidth to support everyone online? Especially when I’ve been connected to a server to be booted and sent to a queue. Now the app won’t even open.

How is that fair? Can anything be done to prevent it… It’s getting ridiculous…

The issue is I am blocked from playing a game I paid for, that is installed on my local machine, because some moronic architect made a stupid decision to require a remote server login in order to play the bought and paid for game that is installed on my local machine, and then compounded the error by building a weak authentication infrastructure.

They deserve the lawsuit that is no doubt coming.

Unbelievable.

if you read the message on the bottom of the app they are currently experiencing a DDOS attack im sure they are trying their best to fix it

I work for a major financial institution, one of the largest in the world. We get DDOSed multiple times a day, thousands of times a year, and our clients expect and deserve a server and software environment that is resilient and secure enough to withstand such attacks.

Clearly Blizzard lacks the executive leadership and the technical skill to maintain a solid and secure experience for their clients.

Worse, they compound incompetence with sheer stupidity by selling games that run in the local user context while the same user has been NEEDLESSLY forced to authenticate to remote environment and is then subsequently forced to maintain the connection to same. It is unbearably stupid, and it is as dangerous as hell to the customer.

Why?

Here’s why: The only reason some clown would launch such a massive DDOS attack would be to launch a man-in-the-middle attack concurrently with the goal being the theft of user data.

This COD is a scam! Amazing game but the lag and server issues are a total scam! Never again!

Or someone decided to attack the servers so Blizz would have to spend time bringing them back up and pissing off people like you.

This has been said multiple times be hundreds if not thousands of people, and Blizz is still chugging right along.

Bottom line is you used a lot of big words and tech jargon, just to say “I’m mad I can’t play COD, or WOW, or Diablo”. This isn’t the first time Blizz servers have gone down and I’m sure it won’t be the last, with as big as they are, they are a target for anybody who wants to try. Just give them time to fix the issue and have faith it won’t take long.
