Blizzard App Wont update/install

The blizz app was working fine last night, i turned my pc on today to play classic WoW, and the app had a update, i let it download and it got stuck multiple times at different stages, i had to restart/turnoff my computer/router just to get it going again for it to get stuck once again, i then found a forum where the blizz employee said to uninstall that app, i have followed so many forums from years of this problem and nothing has worked, i have deleted all Blizz file folders following Blizz employees guide, and still nothing… ive tried a vpn, ive repaired my hard drives, updated everything on my pc and i still cannot re-install blizz app, i have also tried to run the app in admin mode and it just sits on “Updating Blizzard Agent…” all my firewall protection is turned off and virus protections, nothing else is open on the pc at all…

Now i have wasted my entire day off (from work) trying to get this to work with no prevail (8 hours trying to fix the blizz app). this is not the first time the blizz app has had problems for me, it downloads updates at stupidly slow speeds under 100kbps, the COD - MW beta it took me 3 days to download without turning my pc off and not using any other device on the internet…

My pc is directly plugged into the modem same as my room mates, and his blizz app is perfectly fine… Downloaded the update in no time (literally opened blizzard and it was done withing 1 minute) his cod-mw beta also downloaded a whole 2 days before mine did working on the same internet

I have all logs of info sitting waiting for a blizz employee to reply to this now, i tried to get a ticket and send my problem but it just sent me to a “Page cannot be found” when i hit send…

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!

I JUST WANT TO PLAY CLASSIC WoW!!!

if any logs are needed i can post them i have the Msinfo and also DxDiag following a blizz employess guide and also the ticket system which didnt work for me… praying i get a fast reply on here by CS

Hey there,

Based on the reported symptoms I highly advise running a detailed malware scan on the PC. I normally recommend free programs like Malwarebytes. You can uninstall these after verifying there is no malware on the PC.

If it’s still not working after that, go ahead and email the MSinfo and DxDiag to Techinfo@blizzard.com with the subject Blizzard App Wont update/install

Please be aware this inbox is not typically monitored unless we are actively requesting files. Replies from Customer Support will not be sent out via that inbox and will always be posted as replies to tickets/forums. Do not send files to this inbox unless they are requested by a CS agent.

Thanks!

I did a full scan yesterday but i will download the app you have recommended and scan with that as well.

Update : -
I completed the scan with Malwarebytes only files it found that were an issue is my TotalAV (Virus protection program), i have now quarantined in Malwarebytes program, i have then re intstalled the program and it completed within 1 minute… why would my Virus protection system block the blizz app from doing its thing when ive never had a problem with it before yesterday? could it possible be something to do with the latest update that conflicts with certain virus protection programs? since now blocking all my virus protection i am now getting 2mb a second downlaod speeds on the blizzard app… the fastest speeds ive seen on the app in years which i m not complaining about

I am keeping my virus protection quarantined, but id love to know a virus protection program that does not interfere with the blizzard app downloading/updating because my computer is now currently unprotected just so i can use my blizzard app…

Hey ZeroFluxx,

It’s not unusual for some antivirus and security software to start blocking the app or games. Usually you just need to update the software manually to get the latest database, or add the Blizzard app and games as exceptions. Typically if the games and apps are working after the security software is uninstalled, you can reinstall the security software and it won’t be a problem again.

However, you can find the security software we recommend here. Keep in mind that even though these are recommended they can still have weird conflicts if they aren’t updated or aren’t configured correctly.
