I redownloaded the launcher because of moving droves and now the icon shows up as a white file and I’ve tried a couple fixes but none have worked.
Hey there Mayhem,
Thanks for reaching out! This is relatively common, and can be resolved with the steps below:
- Right-click the blank Battle.net Desktop App icon.
- You should see from the bottom Close window → Pin to taskbar - > Battle.net with the blank icon as well.
- Click on this blank icon and you will be met with the “Shortcut not found, delete?” message.
- Click Yes then right click and close out of Battle.net on the taskbar (exit fully, not minimize).
- Reopen the Battle.net Desktop App.
If that doesn’t do the trick, try this:
- Right-click the Battle.net Desktop App taskbar button.
- Right-click Battle.net.
- Click Properties
- Click Change Icon…
- Click OK.
Let us know if you run into any problems!

What ended up working for me a whole two years later [Just happened to me] was going to the location that the launcher is installed - i.e. [G:\GAMES non steam\BLIZZARD\Battle.net] and running the app as admin just once - then pinning it back to my start menu.
