Blizzard App Icon White File

I redownloaded the launcher because of moving droves and now the icon shows up as a white file and I’ve tried a couple fixes but none have worked.

Hey there Mayhem,

Thanks for reaching out! This is relatively common, and can be resolved with the steps below:

  1. Right-click the blank Battle.net Desktop App icon.
  2. You should see from the bottom Close window → Pin to taskbar - > Battle.net with the blank icon as well.
  3. Click on this blank icon and you will be met with the “Shortcut not found, delete?” message.
  4. Click Yes then right click and close out of Battle.net on the taskbar (exit fully, not minimize).
  5. Reopen the Battle.net Desktop App.

If that doesn’t do the trick, try this:

  1. Right-click the Battle.net Desktop App taskbar button.
  2. Right-click Battle.net.
  3. Click Properties
  4. Click Change Icon
  5. Click OK.

Let us know if you run into any problems!

What ended up working for me a whole two years later [Just happened to me] was going to the location that the launcher is installed - i.e. [G:\GAMES non steam\BLIZZARD\Battle.net] and running the app as admin just once - then pinning it back to my start menu.
