Ok, so I’ve read the Battle.net update agent went to sleep topics that date back to 2020, but wanted to know what is causing this problem and why it’s suddenly happening now in 2023.
Yesterday, reinstalling Battle.net fixed it
today it’s back to ‘agent went to sleep’
At this point, I can’t play any games.
Sometimes it does eventually come up (10-15 minutes later).
What’s the root cause of this?
What’s the SOP to resolve it?
The current instructions seem like a shotgun blast of suggestions and the hope that one of the 10 suggestions works. Most replies to these are “Tried it, still didn’t work”
I’m not getting into “Do a fresh install of Windows” level of BS to fix this.

I am having the same issue. I have tried everything from disabling my firewall to white listing battle.net, I have removed battle.net and re-installed it, I have checked the registry to ensure everything is correct. When I re-install battle.net it will look for games, it will find one and then when I try to search for the next game nothing happens. If I close the Battle.net app and re-open it, it instantly says the the Battle.net Update Agent went to sleep. I am not able to play any games at all.
