Battle.net Update Agent hangs at 45%

I have uninstalled Battle.net and tried to reinstall multiple times. It hangs with this message: “Updating Battle.net update Agent… (45%)”. I’ve tried a couple of other posts but those suggestions did not work. My language key is correct in the registry.

I have the same problem here…

WHY are you guys not replying to this question i need a bloody fxkin help too.
i’m in the same bloody fuxkin situation please help

and who is “you guys” ?

The Blizzard Forum Support Agents who replied on the forums until they were “removed” when Microsoft took over Blizzard last January ?

Nowadays… the forums are essentially players helping players. If no one knows what the solution to the issue is, then you likely won’t get a reply.

On 31 July, I installed BNet on a new PC – it was the first thing I installed after the Windows 11 setup… I installed it even before installing my antivirus software. The progress counter did stop at 45% and stayed there for a while — long enough that I thought it had hanged. But it suddenly completed so I was able to install my games.

I don’t know why it does that… is something like an antivirus preventing the install from completing ? is it a connection issue ? Is it a bug ? I don’t know.

There’s some troubleshooting you can try here:

If you want to ask Blizzard to help you, you will need to contact them with a ticket here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/1202/ticket

Good luck !

After trying all all this without a working solution:

  1. deleting folders from %appdata% and %ProgramData%
  2. reinstall the Windows Installer sevice from services.msc
  3. trying another Languages in the installer of the battle.net
  4. restart the computer

i found a way to fix the problem for me:
i bought a new Router and install it (i choose TP-link) and the problem solved

Solution for me today (error BLZBNTBNA00000006):

  1. delete C:\ProgramData\Battle.net
  2. delete C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net
  3. delete C:\ProgramData\Battle.net_components
  4. delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net
  5. delete C:\Users\<MY_USER>\AppData\Local\Battle.net
  6. delete C:\Users\<MY_USER>\AppData\Roaming\Battle.net
  7. delete registry key Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment
  8. Run Battle.net installer

On other occasion it was the antivirus creating the problem:

  • remove Avast antivirus
  • remove AVG antivirus (it’s the same as Avast)

Same problem. Stuck at 45%. I have tried everything to get Battle Net app re-installed.

Well, Microsoft, what did you do to mess it up? It was working 2 weeks ago.
