i did same, and here is the answer
I got your follow up question regarding the issue you are experiencing. I have read all the interactions in your ticket, and so far the dev team has not provided any updates. Let’s hope they can announce something in the next few hours, so we ask for your patience. In the meantime, in that same link, I see that there is a comment with a workaround that you can try. According to the comment, it states that you can click the open launcher without logging in feature, and you will be able to access your games with a manual authenticator code.

Just for the record: the workaround (to open the launcher without logging in) is probably only useful if you already have some games installed, which I don’t.
wish i knew that before unistalling overwatch lmao
Got a Blizzard support reply that they have received similar reports and that the appropriate team is looking into it.

Same issue here, good to know they are looking in to it. Thx
Same exact issue here. And let me tell you – we’ve tried everything humanly possible to fix it:
- Unlinking Xbox/Game Pass accounts
- Full cleanup of all login credentials
- Reinstalling the launcher
- Wiping all Blizzard folders
- Trying different PCs, VPNs, browsers, even fake local servers
Nothing works.
Battle.net just tries to send the login to //localhost:0, which is not even a valid address. It’s like asking your computer to knock on a door that doesn’t exist.
So now we’re stuck. We legally own a product, but Blizzard broke the launcher and won’t let us access it.
I’ve opened a full public post explaining the situation here (feel free to comment or bump it):
[/en/overwatch/t/login-flow-broken-–-launcher-redirects-to-invalid-localhost/970289]
And submitted a support ticket.
At this point, I’m gathering contacts of people affected by this to evaluate a possible legal action (class action) for denial of service on purchased content.
If you’re interested in staying updated or joining the effort, reply here or DM me and I’ll loop you in when we move forward.
We’re not talking about a bug anymore: this is blocking access to paid products and that’s breach of consumer rights.
And it needs to be fixed now.

I’m having the exact same issue, why does this have to happen the moment you decide you want to try a Blizzard product? Of all days! I’ve just spent my money on something I can’t even access because of what seems like a huge design flaw. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible!

Blizzard do something or i going to cheat on your game
guys, i dont know what i did, but try to login with xbox account, ill pass localhost problem and now may download and play games
I can confirm this has just worked for me. It didn’t yesterday so unsure if its be fixed or what?
I just tried and it didn’t work… why
Thanks for the update – good to hear it finally reached the internal team.
We’ve gathered quite other users confirming the issue across different setups and regions. Just hoping Blizzard realizes that this isn’t an isolated bug – it’s a broken login flow affecting legitimate customers trying to access paid content.
Please everyone: keep replying, upvoting and linking to related threads to avoid this being quietly buried. This is exactly the kind of issue that deserves a proper dev-side patch, not just generic support replies.
And the workaround does not work if there is an update to be downloaded since these are available only through the launcher…
Anyone else had sucess other than BigCooker and Varsky? I’m still not able to login.
Never in my life have I ever witnessed such a travesty with this company. I know to some it isn’t a big deal, but it’s literally a massive issue for us that are facing it - FIX THIS BLIZZ.
Just tried this again, logging in with Xbox account and getting the same issue with localhost:0… Sigh.
EDIT: Tried it via Steam account, still no luck.
Guys, it’s an issue that they are investigating and trying to fix. There is nothing that we can do right now, except to just wait. This is the response that I got for my ticket:
A Game Master resolved your ticket, and left the following response:
Greetings
We’re currently investigating an issue preventing players from logging in after connecting their Xbox accounts to Battle.net. Our team is actively working on a fix.
At this time, there are no known workarounds. We appreciate your patience and recommend trying again later.
Thank you for your understanding.

Getting the same issue, so frustrating and it appears to be “account related” rather than app as I can log in just fine using my wife’s credentials. I try my own and get this same issue and tried all the workarounds listed here and only had a generic response to my ticket so far
I’m having the same issue. I installed the app on my computer. It asked me to add my game pass account. I could log in fine. It then told me I needed to be online to play (which in itself is stupid). I had to re log in a second time. I get a message about data sharing, and then I get this message: “This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has cancelled the request for your protection.” Both on Firefox and Chrome. I tried to flush the IP address (by following the support guide) and turned off my VPN. Rebooted the laptop and re-install the app. Nothing works
I can’t access the app any more, so I can’t play any of the games, and I can’t launch them from the Xbox app either…
