The icon has been missing in my taskbar for over a year now, and displays as a white piece of paper. I have tried uninstalls and cleaning registry keys, checking file location paths (which appear to be properly linked) but it never displays the battle.net icon. I can pin the launcher onto my taskbar and it displays the correct icon, but when I click it, it opens another instance of the battle.net app with the missing icon.
Hi,
Try the steps I listed here…
Hopefully, that will do the trick !
Thanks for reply. I’ve tried this but it didn’t work. When I right click Battle.net in my Taskbar, and then click ‘Battle.net’ an error dialogue box pops up saying:
Problem with shortcut
The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'battle.net.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, then try again.
You need to right-click on “Battle.Net” – is that what you are doing ?
Yes, I right click on the icon, and right click on the battle.net option and then that error comes up. I can’t get the settings to come up to change the task bar icon without being given this error it seems.
ok - that’s odd then… not sure what else to suggest at this time.
Quick check / question…
- Use the Windows key – the menu should pop-up.
- Under “B”, there should be a Battle.Net folder… click on that folder.
- There should be a shortcut for the Battle.Net app. Does that shortcut have the usual Battle.Net icon or is it a white page ?
That has the Battle.net Icon! Every Battle.net shortcut/application has the icon still, it’s only in the task bar it turns to the missing white paper icon.
