Hi Acti/Blizz Tech Team,
I’ve had this issue on the one machine for over a year now. When the battle.net application starts up it connects and almost instantly disconnects into “Connecting…” and proceeds to do so until the application is closed.
I believe I’ve taken all the steps mentioned in support forums and the net mgmt flush was also unsuccessful. I’m a bit of a tech novice so any help or suggestions you could provide would be fantastic.
Thanks for your time.
Hey, Mattyzee! It must be frustrating to have this on-going for over a year now. I just wanted to check up with a few questions from you to see if we can narrow this down a bit further.
- Have you tried a different computer on the same home network? Does it run into the same problem or is it only with this computer?
- Does the same issue happen on an alternative connection or VPN?
As for some suggestions, I recommend in this situation. I have two things in mind that might help and are a bit niche in terms of troubleshooting.
-
If you are on Windows 10, try resetting the network settings.
- Click on the Start Menu
- Select on the Settings
option.
- In the Windows Settings, click on “Network & Internet”
- Near the bottom of the new window, click on “Network Reset”
-
On the home network, try checking for the mitigation and prioritization settings. Though, I haven’t seen this cause an issue for this long and consistently, it’s worth a mention in case it may be helpful.
Check for the following settings in the router and disable any that are enabled:
- QoS (Quality of Service)
- WMM (Wireless Multimedia)
- UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
The settings for these can vary from depending on the device model. It’s not something that we help with directly because the settings and locations can vary. The router manufacturer or Internet Service Provider (if the router/modem was provided by them) can help look for these settings.
It’s possible that this might be too complex for us to address this on the forums with this issue ongoing for quite some time and I’m sure you’ve tried quite a lot of steps over the year. Because of this, I actively recommend to open a ticket with us, if you haven’t done so already.
