Downloaded Dark Souls 3 on steam with my 200mbps internet it only took me 30 minutes while on the battle.net app diablo IV is still downloading with 100kbps max.l Well played blizzard
I got the same problem and it is getting worse. My hard drive is going crazy for a full min. to get the login to where I can put in my password. I have never seen any thing like it with any other web client. I feels like someone is hacking into my hard drive, way to much data being accessed just to open the web client.
Are you using an HDD? For most of the Blizzard titles, an HDD doesnât meet the system requirements.
You said that your hard drive was going crazy so Iâm assuming you have a Mechanical (HDD) drive and not a Solid State (SSD) drive. If thatâs the case thatâs where your issue lies. The launcher itself may not necessarily be brilliant (I experience no issues personally) but it has to run background functions to check for updates, check file integrity on the launcher, check games, every time one of those things is done, the launcher needs to access the code for it, and thatâs on your HARD DRIVE!
Most modern games arenât recommended to be ran on Hard Drives because theyâre too slow nowadays (officially they arenât supported, unofficially itâs just not advised or recommended at all).
Look at upgrading to a Solid State Drive (SSD) first (or move battle.net and your games to an existing one if you run multiple hard drives) so you have much faster storage speeds. That should help alleviate a lot of the speed issues. If it doesnât your issue lies with PC Optimisation or outdated hardware that just canât keep up.
