Galaxy S20 on Verizon:
I can successfully log in since having the Authenticator removed from my account, but I can’t attach one now. Going to the “serial number and restore codes” portion to get the number in order to attach it to my Battle.net account simply gives the error:
“Hmm… Something went wrong. We are having difficulty retrieving content from our servers. Please try again.”
No way to attach an Authenticator to my account, decreasing security and limiting my guild options in WoW.
Thought I was the only one
I have exactly same problem
When I click “Authenticator” it is just stuck on Loading request…
When I click options for “Authenticator” serial & restore codes it goes to “Hmm… Something went wrong.” screen. I detched Auth from account, reinstalled Battle.net multiple times including cleaning storage & cache and phone restart.
Maybe I had luck but after having the same problem for a week it has been solved for me. I followed these steps:
- Close app
- Clear all data (long press app > i > Storage > Clear data > Clear all )
- Change from WiFi to Mobile data
- Open app… and done! The authenticator started working again instead of appearing the message of “Hmm… Something went wrong” for the 1000th time
But because I tried so many things before, I will put some other steps that tried (for 10th time) today in case that are involved in the solution. NOTE: between attemps I always cleared all data, and sometimes reinstalled the app).
- Uninstalled app (after clearing all data)
- Changed mobile language
- Changed default browser from firefox to chrome (I needed this to login again after activating the authenticator today)
So… I hope this helps someone
