For some reason the new ROG Ally is not getting aim assist in some games that are launched via the Battle.net app. Examples are overwatch and COD MW2. People who have COD MW2 installed via steam have no issues.
Thoughts on how to force the blizzard app to recognize it as a controller and not mouse / keyboard
The ROG Ally is not a device we offer support for though maybe someone here in the community has encountered the issue and found a solution.
If you have not already done so, I recommend reaching out to ASUS support and see if they have any better insight as to the cause of the issue. They would know their product far better than we would.
Isn’t this a Blizzard concern since on the PS5/Xbox the control option exists to add aim assist while the Rog ally controller settings while playing Overwatch don’t offer such an option? I think it’s unfair for users playing Overwatch on the Rog Ally to be in PC lobbies without aim assist.
It sounds like an issue on both parties. Asus needs to identify the Ally as a console while blizzard needs to update things on their end to accept the Ally as a comsole.
I would disagree, the ROG Ally with COD MW 2 DOES get aim assist via Steam launcher, but not battle.net meaning the issue is with battle net not recognizing the internals as a controller were as other application do. So this problem is specific to the game launcher not the game.
