App asking me to re-purchase game that I own, can't install

I have recently changed from a laptop to a desktop computer and installed the BattleNet App on my new computer. I then wanted to install Warcraft 3 reforged, however it only gives me the option to purchase the game, rather than install it.

I have confirmed on the BattleNet website, that I own Warcraft 3 reforged with an Active Status and last played in May 2023. I have also confirmed that the BattleNet account logged into the website and the app is the same account.

Additionally, on my old laptop, I have the option to install Warcraft 3 reforged, which shows that I own it. Also when I log into the BattleNet App on my laptop, it kicks me out of the BattleNet App on my new computer, indicating that the account on the laptop and new computer is the same.

How can I fix this bug? So I can install Warcraft 3 reforged on my new computer.

Hey Ganar,

Warcraft 3’s install is a little wonky due to the two possible ways one can own it.

In your case, do this:

  1. Log out of the launcher
  2. On the login window, use the gear icon to “continue without logging in”.
  3. Warcraft 3 should now have an Install button.
  4. Once the install has started, you can log back into the launcher in the upper right.

Thank you! That has worked

Thank you this just worked for me as well. There is no option to install the game from the battle.net client unless you switch to offline mode.

Same, I just had to use this same method. For additional info I only own WC3, I do not have reforged but it still worked.
