Yes I know I can hit “x” and close out the ads, but that’s another step in a process that already includes more steps than it should to access a game I paid for. On Steam and other launchers at least you can disable these type of things. Like aren’t there enough ads on the internet as is? I paid for a certain game, let me play that game immediately and stop selling me stuff. I don’t care about a new season of Diablo, I don’t care about a new phase in WoW, I certainly don’t care about any CoD, I don’t care about a new season of Overwatch 2 or a new character launch.
Likely not going to happen. It’s easy marketing to toss that in front of you or make darn sure you see all the current and upcoming MTX items on sale.
