I use MacOS updated to Tahoe, but I remember this happening on previous versions of macOS. When i leave my M2 Mac Studio on for extended periods of time the Battle.net Agent can exceed 5GB of RAM usage. i can close the application and it climbs right back up to significant usage of system ram.

This has been reported since 2022, at least. I’ve just killed the Battle.net Agent because it was eating up 26.85GB of RAM on my M2 Max Pro.
They don’t care and this will never be fixed, considering it’s happening for more than 4 years. I just close the agent when I’m not actively playing.
