Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am trying to add a friend who is living on mainland china to battlenet, he created his account in china, while my account is, I guess in the US.
So far we can’t see eachothers friend request, are accounts created in two different regions incompatible?
Correct. The way the Battlenet App is set up can be a bit confusing. There are TWO region selection areas.
The first is before putting in your password - that lets you select the Region you will be using for Social. Second is from the game screen by the Play button that lets you pick which Region you want to make a game in.
The other issue you may have, is that China has their own version of many games based on cultural laws and such. If your friend has the China only version they won’t be able to interact with you at all.
If they have the Global client then you both just need to log out, set it to the same Region, and log back in. Then you should be able to send and accept friend request and the message. Note - if you change Regions you won’t see messages from friends in other ones. The messages are Region locked.
