2.29 app notice

I have had the notice for patch 2.29 appearing every time I start the Bliz app. This has been going on since the patch was released. I have tried Uninstalling the app and installing the latest one. and anything else that I can think of. Is there a fix for this as it is really getting old. It shows a release date of 2/20/2024.

Hi,

If you are still running version 2.29 of the BNet App… your version of the App is badly outdated. The current version is 2.34.0.14907 .

There was an issue last February that affected some players – their BNet App wouldn’t update to 2.29. The solution was to manually download the new version of the BNet App from the link at the top of this forum and to install it.

See this topic for more info:

An alternative would be to install the Beta version of the BNet App…

Best of luck with this.

I used the “Download Battle.net” and installed it. When I reopened the app it is still showing the 2.29 version installed. Where do I find the Beta version? and thanks for the reply.

Hi again:

Hmmm… not good.

It’s on the Settings panel… click on the blue Battle.Net logo in the upper left corner of the App and select Settings:

In the left column, select Beta and click on the “Switch to Beta” button.

Also it will show the current App version… bottom left corner where the arrow is pointing.

You may want to check that you can create new folders and files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net… ensure that the files are not read-only.

This is what my Battle.Net folder looks like:

So you should already have a Batle.net.14907 folder (latest version available for non-beta). 14908 should be there once you download the current beta.

Hopefully… this will work.

OK, I did as suggested and under settings panel bottom left corner it shows version 2.34.0.14907. So any idea why the 2.29 update notice keeps popping up? Version is up to date according to the settings page.

I think it would help me if you showed me a screenshot of the notice…

The usual BNet App upgrade notice looks like this:

It is not a notice it is actually a box that pops up, I have a picture of it but on this reply box I don’t know how to add the Pic I have of the box.

Hi,

You won’t be able to add a picture… but you can provide a link to it.

The first step is to upload the picture to a picture hosting website… imgur.com is a good one (that’s what I use) but there are others.

In your post, put the link provided by the website for your picture… and then convert that link to preformatted text by highlighting the entire link and clicking on the </> button (button #6) on the formatting bar at the top of the input window.

The link will look like https://i.imgur.com/kB8owFr.png (white text on a gray background) when you hit the reply button.
