Valor Points for "A Test of Valor" Reduced

With a hotfix that is now live–

  • The requirement for the “A Test of Valor” quest has been reduced to 1600 Valor Points earned (was 3000).

Please note: This change did not update the text of the quest and the achievement. Those texts in-game will be updated at a later date.

Please also note: Currency conversions such as (August Stone Fragments -to- Valor Points) do not count towards the requirement to earn 1600 Valor Points.

Thankyou very much for posting this hours after the server came up so people who traded bags for valor to cap alts quicker are delayed a week! Very cool

Does valor when cap’d count towards the quest/chiev?

would you expect any better from the joke of a team running classic into the ground?

not at all, blind leading the blind over there

So you didn’t even bother to check if the valor you were buying from the vendor was progressing your quest before you turned it all in? lol

“3000 (now 1600) valor earned: 0/1”

it has no tracker on the quest

Ahhh that makes more sense; that’s unfortunate then. Hopefully Blizzard can help the people out that got screwed. What do you even get out of completing this portion of the questline? Just the meta gem?

u get a gem slot

Oh its just the prismatic gem for your weapon? I might hold off then doing it for a bit lol

its a gem slot for your weapon specifically

the chain seems to go

prismatic gem
additional normal gem slot for sha touched weapon
meta gem
cloak

I knew that the fragments were busted yesterday ( i tried to go on ptr and use them to advance my quest and it wouldn’t work)

No, the quest is Valor earned from the time of taking the quest. You start at 0 earned regardless of how much valor you currently have.

Big oops here on Blizzard yet again. Even turning in one farming daily quest before completing the legendary chain and activating the valor collection puts you a week behind.

You should have cut it in half to 1500 to give people at least some breathing room.

Already been done.

I tried to be clear, I really did.

By not cutting it in half (1600 is not half of 3000), people are required to earn no valor this week until they complete the legendary chain and get to that step. Many will have.

The 3000 over 2 weeks allowed for some room since in 2 weeks you could earn 3200 valor. By setting it to 1600 they are effectively making it still take 2 weeks for anyone who earned even 5 valor from a single farming quest this week.

What are you even talking about? It doesn’t matter if you earned valor before. It simply doesn’t count toward the 1600 for the quest. Spamming celestials is easy.

Are you only doing dailies? The math isn’t mathing.

It does matter if you earn valor before you get to that part of the quest, because it only counts valor earned once you have the quest, not anything earned before.

I know earning 1600 valor in the week is easy. What I can’t do is after earning 40 valor before taking the quest is earn 1600 for the requirement, I can only earn 1560.

Correct, but it still doesn’t matter. We have the ability to farm valor.

Then why are you making a big deal over it?

Congratulations! You understand.

How are you agreeing yet completely missing what I’m saying?

If the point of this change was to make it take half the time, cut the requirement in half. Setting it as the max amount of valor you can earn in a week is too restrictive and will still force many to take the two weeks anway.

How are you missing what I’m posting? Are you speaking of the valor cap (if so you should have been clear about that. If not, your argument is irrelevant)? If so, then that is on you for not taking 10 seconds to read the blue posts.
