I’m sick of being worried about my team’s healing output when I’m paired with an off healer, even though Mercy is supposed to be a main healer.
I’m sick of having no definitive clutch moment and helplessly watching people die.
I’m sick of having minimal autonomy and being almost completely reliant on my teammates when I need my abilities to function.
I’m sick of being offensively helpless while at the same time having less healing output than other healers with considerably more offensive capabilities.
I’m sick of being sick of Mercy’s state.
You say you’re going to have an “Experimental Mode” and more frequent balance updates.
So please, change Mercy. I’m not talking about Mass Rez. I’m talking changes. At this point I think just about anything would be better than her current state.
Make her fun again. Let Mercy players actually have their power fantasy back of saving lives.
K how about this: Im sick of these complaint threads and people overusing the word: Fun over & over again for an (none coughs) ‘‘constructive’’ feedback.
Just cause you dont find her ‘‘fun’’ doesnt mean that others dont.
She’s fine & balanced how she’s right now. There’s no need to fix something that aint broken just cause you say so.
They do not really care about Mercy. It is probably best to just play a different character. No use playing some bum. If the experimental card fixes her… Play her when she is fixed.
Ya um…mercy is my 2nd most player hero and I dont play her anymore because of all the heavy nerfs she’s been given…just play moira, lucio, ana, or zen now…
Mercy continues to be one of my most played heroes and I consistently have very fun games playing as her. I really hope that in 2020, the people that don’t like playing her just stop playing her. It’s quite clear that a lot of people like Mercy but don’t like how she’s intended to play, they don’t see her strengths, they don’t consider her synergies. In general what I’ve found is that people of this category will not think Mercy is fun until she simply has a higher chance of winning than other healers. People don’t like her kit, they don’t like what she’s meant to prioritize, they don’t like beam juggling… unless those things just allow her to be stronger than the average support, in which case she’s perfect and shouldn’t be touched.
Just admit you don’t want to play Mercy and pick a different hero that better fits your playstyle or otherwise gives you what you want from this game.
I don’t even understand what’s supposed to be “bad” about her current state when everything listed in the OP are intended flaws of the character that have been present since at least Ana’s release, when she finally got competition for HPS output.
I find her very fun still. Yet she is still blatantly underpowered.
Her pickrate in GM right now is 1%. When it rose up to 2% earlier this week, her winrate tanked down below 50%, and then she promptly went back down to 1% pickrate. As in, the players tried her, were losing, and placed her back in the trash bin. That is the lowest pickrate of all supports. Ana and Moira are both around 8% and Bap is up there too. Even Brig has around a 6-8% pickrate. Moira got a hard nerf from 80 to 60 HPS and Bap got his recent Immortality Field nerfs and a gun nerf AND an HPS nerf from 60 to 50 and yet they are still being picked MUCH more than Mercy. Mercy has also not been a meta support pick since season 10, and we are in season 20. That’s almost 2 years.
So maybe she isn’t balanced? If every other support is better and being picked more, even after they’ve been nerfed quite a bit? And she hasn’t been a viable nor meta pick in masters/GM in 10 seasons? Just a possibility…
I find current Mercy amazingly fun to play. I’ve mained her since launch and am so glad mass rez is gone, it was unhealthy and unfun to play with and against. I even spent the last year arguing with other Mercy players and saying she was fine and balanced. But I’ve realized she actually is quite far and below the other main healers, and you really can’t run her as a main healer. Which sucks because even Geoff and Jeff both said she’s supposed to be a main healer and the go-to pick for raw healing power.
She needs a healing buff if she’s going to be a main healer. And that’s literally the truth of the matter. 55 HPS, 60 HPS, some kind of healing boost mechanic on her reload button, it doesn’t matter. She needs more healing throughput to be considered a main support.
Blinky, the top500 Support main and streamer (who flexes to all supports at top500), even made a poll last week saying “Which Main healer do you think is the best right now?” and Mercy wasn’t even an option to vote on…it was only Moira, Ana, and Baptiste. And when he tried streaming a GM Mercy account yesterday, he literally had to swap off of her immediately and go to Ana or Moira every game. She’s not good, and she’s not balanced.
Thats kinda bad for a hero who can heal or provide utility.
Most of the off healers can give both at the same time, mercy as off healer is a little bit lackluster.
Im not saying she should be buffed in terms or healing or damage boosting, but it would be fun to have the ability to pull the pistol while healing or boosting for a short time.
If you’re not having fun, why do you continue playing that hero?
I have fun playing her, I also have fun playing Moira. So many people say these heroes are “boring” but I guess fun is subjective, and she’s not meta, so you’re not even forced to play Mercy.
i have made, in the past a post on mercy and how she does not need buffs, but boy i was wrong, when the double shield meta took off she just felt weak and awful too play, again and again i come and say that she just doesnt feel effective. its better to play bap and moira.
If your team needs more raw healing output and you’re paired with a low-healing-output support, you shouldn’t be playing Mercy. It doesn’t make sense to pick the wrong tool for the job and then complain about its ineffectiveness. No matter how much you want to use a hammer all the time, it won’t screw things in like a screwdriver.
Thank you for this. This is exactly what’s going on. Mercy isn’t what she used to be and that’s fine because there are many more support options now. I think most folks complaining about her just like her as a hero and are holding on to her old place in the game and will refuse to move on and only play her when she’s meant to be played rather than all the time.
This is probably the best place to post your player feedback. Reddit is also an option, bit the risk of getting it burried is too big there.
Also, don’t play the victim card here.
The “hatred” Mercy mains receive is most likely thanks to the behaviour of some Mercy mains in the past, as well due how broken the hero was after the rework.
I see it different. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
Players asking for reworks or straight buffs because of subjective feelings, despite the hero not in need of it, is nothing more than being selfish imo. This isn’t limited to Mercy, but it seems to be the most present with Mercy.
Mercy is such a healthy hero for the game, can’t aoe heal outside ultimate. Single target healing, what Ana, zen and mercy do is good it doesn’t discourage doing chip damage. Pump up mercy healing to 60, remove E ability resurrect. New ultimate is single target resurrect with 0.4 sec cast time instead of old 1.75 sec, which also triggers 10 second valkyrie afterwards even if there are no one to be resurrected.
As much as people will hate to hear this but mercy’s healing is as it should be… .the reason why mercy and sustain damage isnt seeing much use is why bother waiting for something when it can happen in a click… so i propose we make every main healer like mercy… over time healing tada the game gets basic sustain back… how that would be idk… but as it stands mercy is perfect in terms of how her healing works and how much she can do its the other healers literally over shadowing her because they have burst heal
I’m a Mercy main as well, so people might consider this biased or whatever, but I don’t care. I do think she needs some changes. I like the hero. I will continue to play her. Except…
I also feel that I can’t contribute to the outcome of a match. The playstyle of fly here, fly there, jump around and occasionally pocketing a hero is a bit stale. She has no sort of viable offensive coverage while also not really having the ability of keeping people alive, since she can’t actually outheal much damage especially for heroes like D.Va. She CAN put out a decent number in a match, but that doesn’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things if you can’t actually keep them alive, which I think Mercy struggles to do. You’re considered throwing when you pull out your pistol, and yet you pull out your pistol because the DPS aren’t doing their job.
People keep the argument of how “Rez is so powerful.” But how many times, actually, do you manage to pull off Rez in a match? I see good Mercy players pull off maybe 5-6 a match. I get around 3-4 on average. In high ranked games it’s almost a death sentence, because Mercy can’t defend herself and the Rezzed player cannot move for a time afterward. It’s really not that powerful of an ability. Not to mention if you fail the Rez trying to save yourself from death or you get CCed out of it you have such a huge cooldown on a wasted ability.
Honestly I think she needs a HPS buff. Something like 50 > 55. I never actually played in the Moth Meta and with Mass Resurrect, so I don’t know what they were like. But Mercy now obviously isn’t strong compared to that. That’s just my two cents.
No one is forcing you to play a hero you dont like. Learn someone else…a lot healers are fun. I like Mercy, Zen, Lucio, Moira and Ana. Can play the others if needed. 0 issues.
