Zul Gurub was a really fun raid

Minus a few bosses, the raid was barely more difficult than UBRS, yet most of the rewards were better than most of T1, and even a few pieces out of BWL. That discrepancy was widened when they nerfed Hakkar into the ground. He was relatively hard to beat in his original form.

I just want 2 hour long ST GiEf NaO

I appreciate the feedback!

Ah, I have VERY fond memories of ZG. I ran with a group who let me pull with mind control - was awesome. Then would MC blood priests to heal the tank.

Made me glad I rolled night elf priest, because that dodge bonus + elune’s grace was needed sometimes after the Mind Controls.

ZG is still one of my favorite raids

Honestly, Maraudon was well worth the long hike. It ranged quite a few levels, so it remained viable content for some time. It’s design was definitely one of the best dungeon layouts in Vanilla, 5-man or raid. I think I remember it more fondly than just about any other dungeon.

Except Deadmines. Who didn’t freaking love Deadmines?

My favorite instance. Too bad the gear was out of control. It really messed things up.

I was just reminiscing about how good a system badge gear was. It was a decent balance that let casuals slowly acquire gear, without being the hilarious loot avalanche you get through WQs in Retail. Gearing purely through random heroics took forever though, so it left plenty of incentive to raid.

Mostly thinking back to Wrath era. Felt good for its time. Not suggesting it for Classic of course.

Deadmines is where it’s at lol

I was mostly thinking about TBC badge gear. I certainly remember the Tabi boots I used the entire expansion. The Quel Dannas badge gear was ridiculously OP. Some of it was better than BT/Hyjal loots. I would prefer you had to do something beyond Heroic Dungeons to get loot that strong.

Looking forward to having Swift Zulian Tiger on both modern and classic WoW.

I spent a LOT of time in Zul’gurub in Classic. Tuesday and Thursday getting up at 7 AM to raid with an ANZAC group, 11 AM leading my own ZG PUGs.

I might do this again in Classic - leading a ZG PUG, that is.

Ah, didn’t really play BC, that does sound imbalanced.

I think by Wrath gear was homogenized enough (for better or worse) that there weren’t such strong tier-defying outliers, outside of maybe trinkets. At least gear still had hit on it

I loved ZG

Any dungeon/raid that involved trolls seemed to be fun.
Zul’Farrak
Zul’Gurrub
Zul’Aman
Drak’Tharon
etc. etc.

ZG is the highest raid many people will get to, if Vanilla is any testament to Classic. Twas a good one.

I was in many drunken pug zg raids that were advertised as drunk raids in Trade chat. The raid leader was this really awesome lady who would cuss people out for not listening. Scarlet Crusade server.

ZG was good fun, I’m looking forward to It and AQ20

Loved ZG, I would go with my normal PVP crew in there and do that PvE content. Was a blast being a feral tank in there.
