yeah that too! even if its perfectly fine by the rules for me to follow Ursola around secretly taking pictures of her hooves, blizzard could easily change the ToS to outlaw the disgtinguished art of draenei hoof photography if it impacts enough people’s gameplay to make them complain about it, or heck for no reason at all!
in the Year of Our Satan 2020, strange beings argue in defense of kicking sand in the faces of children minding their own business and, should those children begin to understandably cry because tiny abrasive particles of sand are grinding their eyeballs, actually become indignant and insist those cries of pain are unfair to the kicker
You’re assuming at least 3 biased things about me actually - not based on any definitive things that I have said but based on your own ‘loose’ interpretations of things I said about other things. Now, you seem ready to go for the jugular with anyone that might be threatening…whatever it is you think you’re defending, SO, I’ll lay it out plainly for you:
I don’t have an issue with LGBTQ+ people or culture. At all. You really don’t know how silly you are to be barking up this tree with me.
I do have a problem with bad writing. My issue here is with something I perceive as bad writing. If you don’t understand why I would have an issue with the WoW writers prioritizing the sexual orientation of characters as an important part of the lore, well that’s not really my fault , but don’t try and turn this into a civil rights issue, but I wasn’t going there.
My guess is that you’re just a professional activist type, acting insulted and lashing out at folks in ‘defence’ of other folks, who don’t need or want it (and who knows, you might just be lashing out at the person you’re defending so…tread lightly lol). So, do your thing. I’ve had my say, and now you have it plainly where I am coming from. Cheers
No but seriously I’m surprised that escalated so suddenly. Did he get me mixed up with another level 101 demon hunter who did talk about civil rights and accused him of a bunch of stuff? cause I think i’d remember if I did any of that
We can and ought to. You’ve missed my point entirely.
You seem to be backpeddaling which, given your post history, is understandable and I won’t hold it against you. I just told you why I wrote that sentence. You’re welcome to re-read what I wrote if you need to mull it over some more. Do you have a hidden problem with LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity? What’s going on here? What are we even fighting about at this point?
I really think you have me confused with someone else. I never called you a homophobe or implied you were against LGBT people or civil rights or whatever.
I DO think that you implied in this thread that some folks want everyone to announce who they “like in the sheets” or whatever, but heck maybe even that was just a humorous exagerration and the joke went over my head?
Actually people reacted directly and specifically to definitive things you said, so.
“You just misinterpreted what I said” is such an incredibly overused and terminally boring defense that I’m kind of surprised people still use it. It’s right up there with “Thanks for taking part in my social experiment” and “lol I sure trolled you good”
Then you should understand why the “sexual orientation shouldn’t come up” argument is harmful. That you’re choosing to be instead offended is… telling.
Alright, then you must regard every. Single. Straight romance featured in this game, minor or major, as poor writing. And not just due to specific elements, but because it focuses on straightness. Because this oddly did not become an issue until an honest to goodness m/m relationship was put into the game.
My dude, it is a civil rights issue. Representation is part of the fight and always will be.
You know, for claiming to have no issue with queer people or their culture, you sure do have some aggressively dismissive takes.
