I don’t even remember the first event. Maybe a few abominations in stormwind but thats just how bad it was if I didn’t bother with it back then.
On the PTR i saw a undead rogue sit on top of the towers at SW’s front gate with a net gun, any flagged player that came in range was quickly netted and fell right into a horde of ghouls that was camping the argent quest giver.
Hands down the funniest thing i’ve seen all pre-patch.

Can someone provide a link to the blue post of them promising never doing it again? It sounds like something taken out of context in order to promote a narrative. If you have no evidence it didn’t happen.
More like great for continued research on personal responsibility and the psychology of people during a pandemic response. They’ve used the events before for such research purposes, and looks like they’ll be able to use it again.
i do remember it was cut short but promising never doing it again i don’t recall that ever being stated
Me neither, and I’m not even sure if it was cut short. Maybe I was dreaming but some reason I recall a statement saying it was always the plan for it to be a short term thing. They made this statement due to people being upset that it went away. But idk, I tried to find blue posts on stuff back then and I can’t. Not sure how to access the old WoTLK forum archives.

You know, I’ve been lurking these forums for a while now. Reading the complaints about being “Inconvenienced” from this pre-patch event. Well, let me tell you something. I’ve been “Inconvenienced” for almost two whole expansions now. You know Why? Because i have to do stupid PVE content in order to gear up to be halfway “decent” in PVP content. I wish i could just que up for only battlegrounds, or participate in open world PVP, but the rewards you get from doing that are pretty terrible. 425 gear, random drops, and only if you win a battleground. Fill up your conquest bar to choose an option of which armor/weapon piece you are on that week. And you have to do that, over, and over. Its tedious, time consuming, and eventually gets old after a while. But, I never complained until now! I just dealt with it.
So yeah, one week of being inconvenienced is not going to hurt you. Suck up it buttercup and deal with it. This event is coming whether you like it or not.

i feel this is a valid question. at least dk’s with 50 zombie armies would be good for the lol’s.

Everyone I know loved the event back in wrath, and there was no escape. Now you have flying, low pop areas, garrisons, etc to hide in if you want to wuss out and not participate.
I don’t know where you got the whole “everyone hated it”… especially since you weren’t even playing the game back then.

This pre patch was planned wayyyyyy before all this even happened in the world. They usually plan 2 expansions out which is a direct quote. Honestly I dont see a big deal about it and it’ll be fun and bring back some memories and its very thematic for the Scourage is rampant now without control.
If I remember they cut it short because it got so out of hand it started crashing servers. They’re stress testing things on the PTR and asking for people to try and break as much as they can. Hopefully they can tweak it this time around and keep it crazy but not too crazy.
