ZG too easy?

Do we know for sure 5P Hakkar was a WF?

I mean is there a way to even verify?

I know there was some 3-man Onyxia or w/e and priest-tanking MC was done…but who remembers it all?

I wonder how it makes people feel when clickers and keyboard turners are still clearing Mythic content in retail.

There are a couple of exceptions (rogue is another), but back in vanilla you had stuff like paladins healing in t2, druids healing in t1, etc.

the only guild that i have heard coming close was Elitist Jerks (Ion’s guild) and they got it down to like 5% or so

I am sad that Elitist Jerks needs introductions now.

I remember before Icy and Wowhead what the theorycrafting HQ looked like.

…so what’s your question?

Yeah, exactly people are dramatically overestimating the skill of the average player. Many of these guys have not cleared BWL and many of these guys will absolutely not make it into Naxx and we will get complaint threads asking for it to be nerfed.

The fact is we have a fully fleshed out DBM from the get go that we didn’t have until TBC. We have +400 spell power when before we didn’t have almost any spell power until much later patches. Thats why things are just melting. We have the new talents that came much later and we have experience. All of this easiness has allowed all the raids to generally be on farm which allows us to gear up easier which compounds the problem.

The game actually was hard, its just we got the joke version of the game.

They could also stop watching YT videos of everything before they run it. We had a few independent sites that took the time to give us breakdowns of the fights, but that was really about it. If people choose not to make it challenging for themselves in all these ways combined, they will “feel” ripped off, but ultimately it’s thier own doing. Can’t please em. Stop spoiling the experience for yourselves. #Simple xD

If they release BC with patch 2.4 that would be horrible. 2.4 shouldn’t be out until a year or two after BC’s launch. Hell vials should be farmed individually for a long long time before they are given to everybody in raid as a single drop.

BC had by far the best progression curve ever. I hope Kael is murder.

By “Kael is murder” do you mean “Kael was kept purposely bugged and unkillable for months so they could finish BT?”

Pretty much all the spell power gear and significant (things like Fury getting an actual attack as their 31 pt talent) class changes were in by 1.6 which was when BWL was the latest raid.

100% agreed here!

Kara was simple but entertaining (and very large)
Gruul and Mag were fun (well nerfed Mag, ill admit i never saw mag pre nerf. Was too busy pvping then)

Then we got into actual raids
SSC - AMAZING raid, each fight teaching you positioning or restraint that would be needed later. (Lady Vjash was harder than Illidan - change my mind)
TK - Again, amazing - although slightly easier than SSC if you take Kael’Thas out of it. The Kael fight was one of my all time favorite fights. So much chaos for a progression guild that is getting used to positioning.

ZA was entertaining but sadly easy. I solo healed it for our 10 man team to get bears. Still fun.

Hyjal - Well the fights werent that hard, the trash was a pain though, a lot of the positioning you had to learn from t5 content played into Hyjal. Archimonde was a 5g bandit that cost me an average of 200g a night for progression (because people running fires through melee/tanks or someone not hitting their tear …)
BT - Place still makes me happy to walk into it. Have farmed it for years and still love it.

Funwell - Well, kiss your guild goodbye because likely Mu’ru destroyed it lol.

Pre-nerf Mag was fun. Post-nerf it was much easier with how they change “clube” clicking.

They had it anyway if they weren’t stupid and went deep into Arcane to augment Frost… just like now.

I tanked ZG when it was released… it wasn’t hard then. The only thing “difficult” was reminding people they needed to use something other than Polymorph when I got MC’d on Hakkar.

Don’t repeat debunked lies. Spell Power existed in Patch 1.1.

Clearly they’re senile.

Many of which aren’t relevant to the ease of ZG overall. We didn’t even do Edge of Madness as it isn’t required, the loot is noticeably poor, and it requires blowing a Black Lotus.

Of your list the only relevant nerfs are:

Half of the changes to Hakkar are bug fixes with associated adjustments due to the bug correction. Only the reductions to melee damage and the absence of Slow really matters.

its catchup raid where anyone with t2 will overgear it…

Exactly, that’s what players often forget about and then gripe because it’s not what they remember about the content. If they just some in geared and setup like they were before the experience will be a lot more interesting, that’s ignoring the annoying fact that blizzard removed half the trash, but I think that happened in late vanilla long after we got our enchants and trinkets.

My mind is blown

It’s supposed to be easy when you outgear it

Back in the day ZG was in response to two issues players were facing:

  • From a casual perspective, getting 40 ppl together to raid was difficult. An eternal issue that spawned LFR.
  • Many players didn’t have several pieces of MC gear at the time like we do now. So Blizzard created ZG to gear players for MC and BWL (which had been released the in the prior patch).
