So Zen Flight has been nerfed so that we can’t interact with stuff, fish from it, or mount up while on the cloud. This was an UNANNOUNCED nerf. This is like 75% of the usefulness of the ability - things that we’ve been able to do since its inception. So what was the point of this change? Was it just to screw over monks for the lolz?

They should just turn Zen Flight into another Druid flight. It deserves to be awesome.

I always assume that any ‘fun detected’ nerfs are deliberate and never expect them to be reverted, because they’re usually not. 
EDIT: They actually reverted it two weeks later. I’m happy to be wrong in this case.

Monks can also fish while lying down, try it, face water, type /lie then click your fish button.
(Actually we can all do that, ack… Monks can read this too can’t they…)
You would think typing /lie would cause your toon to say “I can solo an M+10” but alas it doesn’t.

Too slow. It sucked. Fishing with it was irrelevant to me. I’ve got a raft.
Making it into an instant cast flight form that has interact would be awesome.

The fun part was actually being able to mount up while on the cloud, making the move speed part sort of irrelevant. It did do a weird thing (at least in my experience) where it would toggle you from skyriding to standard if you did that, though. It would change back to skyriding when you next remounted on the ground, so I guess the whole interaction was bugged?
Still, I enjoyed it and it was fun. Then the fun was detected…

They’re never going to give monks something like the Druid’s instant cast flight form. There’s way too many druids and they’d whine far too much about it. To be fair, if I mained a druid and the devs did that, I’d be pretty annoyed, too.
Besides, that would actually benefit monks too much. Can’t have that.

Instant cast flight form means you are mounting in the air if you fall or something.
As a Druid since 2006… Monks should have it for Zen Flight and they should give Mages raven form!

I guess the monk’s designer has left, and the replacement designer was too lazy to optimize the floating skill separately for each update, so he completely fixed it.

Aside from perhaps fall-damage prevention in flight-zones, this change would also essentially render the whole basis & purpose of Zen-Flight as useless too.
Changing it back would be ideal.
Not to mention it was harmless fun.
It’s not like it was something to be considered as: “Tremendously overpowered!”
Zen-Flight’s previous capabiltiies were a cool quality of life feature.
So them changing it literally seems to be a direct and hateful “FU” to monks. lol
