Zekvir’s Spittle ability not removed with Wraith Walk or Death’s Advance

FYI I tested Zekvir’s layer ?? Difficulty and noticed that when Wraith walk is active, the slowing effect of spittle is 100% negated, however the dot remains. I believe this is a bug as all other move moment speed removing abilities seem to remove the dot for other classes and races. Similarly should death’s advance do the same? Technically death’s advance indicates you can’t drop below 70% speed but wraith walk for sure is 170% speed (I.e. no slow impact).

Currently the only way I’ve found to avoid spittle is anti-magic shield cast prior to getting hit, Brann’s cleanse, or some racial tricks like gnomes escape artist. The human racial doesn’t work.

FYI I’ve submitted this to the bug forum as well.

Thank you,

This has always been the problem of DA, it doesn’t cleanse slows, it ignores them. This is intentional. We have a lot of answers to problems but when blizzard wants to affect us with something they will. Deaths Advance makes us immune to forced movement and sometimes effects will be labelled “Displacements” and DA won’t ignore those. Lichborne makes us immune to Fears and some effects have been programmed to cause us to be “Horrified” not feared in order to get around our immunity buttons.

Anyways I don’t think this is a bug. Other classes have cleanses tied to their movement abilities because they dont have the passive minimum 70% speed we have. It’d be nice to have a slow cleanse but ultimately they didn’t change it for The Everbloom, or any of the other things that were lethal to tanks if the slows didnt get cleansed so I doubt they’re gonna add a slow cleanse to DA for us for this single season challenge boss.

If you get hit then use DA it clears it. by if you DA before getting hit it will apply.

This is in fact false. After reading your comment i went straight to Zekvir’s Lair to test it and it doesnt clear it at all. If you get hit and then DA you just lose the slow effect but the poison isn’t dispelled.

Maybe I am thinking of the wrong ability.

The only way DKs have to clear poison is AMS, which will do so only if you have specced into a specific talent.

I think a simpler way to look at it is : Does your spell breaks root?
Since DA doesn’t break root it doesn’t dispell it.
I’ve done it with a DK , a Lock and a Paladin so far and from what i’ve seen that’s what determines if it dispells it or not.
Lock TP and Freedom dispells it because they break root effects , DA does not.
