Zaralek Caverns Completely Abandoned

what change? did I miss something?

the change to rares doesn’t have anything to do with it. That place just doesn’t have any long term rewards so it is pointless to keep doing.

I am not sure why you want to blame that rare change for total abandonment. I didn’t even know the rares changed before I stopped doing them.

it was nothing of importance I have no idea why they are blaming rare change - it was something to do with how they spawned or a restriction on how many they could kill a day.

What mistake? What change?

As someone who hasn’t killed any rares or did any of the research event, I’m very happy I don’t have to engage with this content at all.

I hope the changes you’re asking for will not make it so I feel incentivized to kill rares.

I did FR on a bunch of characters and I hated it. Please don’t put required items behind “spent several hours of killing rares” with out some other options in raid or m+.

I should’ve specified that it wasn’t about the rewards for me, not in general. My mistake.

I just don’t like spending time in depressing zones.

Raids and M+ gave better gear than Forbidden Reach though.

do we need to be told this? I don’t ever remember getting told this for any zones and I managed to play just fine.

The primary activity of any zone will vary depending on what people like to do. There is just nothing much of interest to me and they have made world content useless to do because of people who didn’t want to be FORCED to do dailies.

Surely some kind of auto group for world quest option could be added to the game.

The ring was very strong and bis for a lot of classes.

Yeah I still need one of the pets (Brul), which is selling for 250-600k on my server. Probably because no one is ever around to kill Brullo. I can solo him on this character rather easily, but none of my alts can, making it very hard to farm. Two attempts a week, if I remember to pop in Zaralek to look for him after the reset, despite having no reason to be there.

I get that, that’s what the Maw zones and half of Shadowlands was for me. One reason that led to my disinterest in that expansion.

In DF I can log in and find something fun to do. But I can’t really find a reason to do it usually, outside of maybe a cool pet model to add to my collection. But that’s about it.

They keep giving me ground mounts I’ll never use, because there’s only like a 20-30 level window with an alt where I’ll even see them. I bet if they let every single mount fly and let us dragon ride with them (like how FFXIV does) I’d be more interested in collecting them. Super cool models, but they just sit in a collection UI because who is using ground mounts in Dragonflight?

Gear is also a neat reward that doesn’t really have a huge purpose for world content play because there’s really nothing to check it against. Unless I’m mistaken and ZC becomes entirely soloable with better world content gear.

As a reward-driven RPG player, it feels like almost no actual preset goals exist to overcome. No real repeat loop. Just log in, dabble, get nowhere, and log out.

they had that in legion and remember people would join and AFK

Then selectively punish bad actors

It removes the barrier to entry of listing your group and others searching for your group in LFG.

When you enter a zone where a world quest or rare is there should be a pop up to look for other adventures to aid you.

Give players the option to vote kick afk people out and lock them out of lfg for 15 mins.

they already could kick people out in legion - people aren’t interested in doing that.

I am not sure what you think this would accomplish anyway. I am not going to waste my time doing group content no matter how easy to do when the rewards are of no value or interest to me.

People are complaining about the rares having too much health and then not being able to form groups.

Removing barriers to grouping up with other players will objectively help with this problem.

I don’t really care if you engage with the content.

changing this isn’t going to help if no one is interested in doing those rares which almost no one is. What exactly do you think drops off those rares that can’t be obtained elsewhere (other than one ugly mount). Is that what this is about one mount?

Just because you’re not interested doesn’t mean others are not. And not being able to find groups easily makes for a negative feedback loop where people give up and stop trying to find groups to kill rares.

There is more down in the Caverns that you CANNOT obtain elsewhere than you think. All the Drakewatch scripts for the Slitherdrake are down there. There are pets down there you cannot get to drop from anything above ground. Same goes for toys. Tell me you didnt actually go the Caverns without telling me you didnt go to the caverns.
