Zaralek Caverns Completely Abandoned

I was actually curious and checked wowhead today there’s only one rare that drops a mount. It’s kind of underwhelming I’m more indifferent on it though. I guess they could’ve added a meta achieve for the zone or something.

Well of course Zaralek is empty, it’s not the new content now, it’s the Time Rifts…the only time to go to Zaralek is to upgrade your armor, and even then I think you can do it in Valdrakken now.

As I just said in a post not 2 posts before you made this, The caverns were emptied less than 2 weeks after their inception due to a change of how rares work. This was way before time rifts were released. THIS change to how rares worked is what has caused mass abandonment of the caverns. This is mainly what this thread is about, the change that was made less than 2 weeks after the caverns patch went live that butchered the content.

Hence why I just typed “mount” and not “mounts”.

Imagine that, a place where many players collected what they wanted to collect and already have better gear than it offers being dead. This is on par with throwing a temper tantrum that the Isle of Thunder isn’t popular anymore. lol c’mon.

There are people returning to the game even today that will not get to experience the content much less have a chance to collect the items other people already have because of the premature killing of newly released content.

I’m m one of those people you mentioned who has everything collected from the caverns but I’m not throwing a ‘tantrum’ for myself. I’m advocating for a mistake to not be repeated that would kill new content 1-2 weeks after it was introduced.

It is the week that the sparks quest is on Timeless Isles, but also it’s still a very useful zone for the BoA 385 primalist gear for your alts. ZC didn’t offer anything like that, and a few days after launching it, they removed the ability to farm the bosses down there as well.

Are you confusing the Forbidden Reach with the Timeless Isle?

Even then, Time Rifts >>>> Forbidden Reach for catching up.
Heck, even random heroics are better since you can upgrade those to 411 gear.

How come this guy gets yellow text and I dont?! Anyone knows how he does it?

Anyway about the OP I agree 100% with it.

Yeah, I was thinking Forbidden Isles for some reason.

But Time Rifts are TERRIBLE for gearing up. You get one token per week for a 402, and on my grind from rank 1 to rank 5 with Soridormi on my main I got I think 1 or maybe 2 additional pieces to drop. And that’s a LOT of rifts. I can get enough gear in an hour on FR to gear up 2 to 3 toons to 385, which while it’s not great, it’s a starting point and better than the 329 heirlooms + random other 180-300 ilvl stuff they’re wearing. Plus I can upgrade it and get their 4 piece S1 bonus still which is handy. And it’s plenty to start M+ with.

Suppose you somehow ding 70 naked on an alt. I would…

0 - Do all weekly freebies. If on LFD, be the lead: World Bosses (LFD), Researchers on Fire (LFD) + Loamm weekly, Time Rift (AFK), Soup (do the weekly quest) and maybe Dragonbane Keep (I’d LFD it as well depending on realm activity). You already got a 402 from rift, a 402 from niffen weekly and a 415 from researchers (+4 drake crests).
1.1 - Farm honor for a while in epic BGs for some targeted gear, specially a weapon.
1.2 - Finish the MSQ while waiting in random queues.
2.1 - Run 5 heroics for the freebie 415.
2.2 - Farm flightstones for upgrades.
3 - Go straight to mythic+.

It does not take even a single day to be geared for current content anymore, starting from literally no gear.

I’d never bother with the reach since it’s an empty zone now.

To answer your question of why my text is different, it’s because I’m part of a group selected by the team to a 1 year term as part of a thing called Community Council.

You won’t see many of us on the forums because it’s a limited thing. But come around November they should be opening up applications again for the 2024 year!

You can see most of our posts in the WoW Community Council forums though and if something we post resonates with you don’t be afraid to hit that heart on our threads/posts. It lets the WoW team know players like the ideas.

I’m not farming FR on my alts that just hit 70, I’m farming it an hour or two once or twice a week on my main to keep my bank alt full of primalist gear (and you’d be shocked how fast I can fill a group with 5-10 people just by listing it, though my main is a BM hunter and I can easily solo all but 2 of the rares). So as soon as they hit 70 (and most are somewhere in the 250 to 300 ilvl range) I do this.

  1. Logoff alt who just hit 70, logon to bank alt holding all my primalist gear, send full set of gear to alt.
  2. Log back on to alt, create the gear, you now have all 385’s minus a second ring and second trinket.
  3. Hop on AH mount, buy a 379 PvP ring and PvP trinket (just after ilvl here)
  4. Head over to Lindormi, get a M+ key
  5. List key, fill group, start doing keys

So I’m in current progression content within 5-10 minutes of hitting 70. I prefer my method.

I will like everyone’s posts so they vote for me this year. Pinkocean is taking over!

You do you, keys are not my endgame, nor is holding BoAs.

I’m still trying to figure out if the primary activity was digging and snail racing.

Nope it was finding Lord Stanley whom is hiding under a hat…

Researchers Under Fire scenarios which are a blast with a full raid group, and still going strong, over a month after this thread originated.

The other rares need to scale.
