Still bugged, WQ willnot even trigger.
FLown out of the area multiple times, relogged, disabled all addons so for this particular character i’m logged in on, I’m out of luck. All other WQ in the area are triggering.
The hotfix didn’t fix this issue at all. Still just as bugged. Can’t get it to trigger. I did one time and then made the mistake of joining a group to take them down. This untriggered the world quest for them… So I guess I have to solo them? Was the “”“fix”“” even tested before going live or was that note put in there accidentally?
i tried in 2 different raid groups. no quest credit, no gold from quest, of the new awakened gear boxes. people in the raids said they didn’t get anything either.
I did it on another character earlier today and it worked. even then though, these awakened bosses only gave veterans gear.
What i have found out since then, is that if you are in a raid and at the bosses, check your mini map. if you don’t see 2 yellow dots where the bosses are standing, leave the raid. there will be no loot or quest completion. join another raid and try again. i haven’t tried leaving zaralek and logging out but that might help as well

I tried this before the maintenance and it worked for me. I could not get the WQ to appear in my list no matter what I did, but I did make sure both elders were yellow dots on my mini map. It worked for that character. Not sure if this is a workaround or if it was dumb luck.
For the Elder WQ at the moment, this is my best advice :

If you enter that zone near the Elders and you see the meesage of the WQ popping up, please create a group and let others join. You will have a very high chance to complete it. ** another point people mentioned that : if you are the group leader, delist your group before the fight once you have enough players, so that to make sure no new players to join during the fight to create the bug potentially **

If you dont see such message or you dont want to create a group, try look for a group to join.

Once you join a group, if the Elders were not spawned yet, most likely you will be bugged again, dont wait, just leave and find another group.

Until you find a group that either in the fight or at least see the Elders will be there, AND you also see the WQ message popping up, then stay and complete it. If not, try again.

i have seen at least 2 different raids killing them and there was no loot (no yellow dots). i have seen the WQ pop too. i have gotten there and found them up and not engaged also with no yellow dots.
what does matter is if they are showing on your mini map as yellow dots. keep joining other raids until you see the dots. it is also possible that like some other world quest bugs i have seen in the past, leaving the zone and coming back makes the quest active. sometimes it took leaving and re-logging and then going back.

New problem. Showing as completed but still trackable and no loot. Killed them twice now, no loot, still showing as completed-but-not.
Same. The WQ is popping up, I even had the Defeat the Zaqali Elders gray out showing it completed but the actual WQ did not complete and I couldn’t loot one of them even tho I tagged both. I tried again, this time it didn’t gray out, I could loot both, it still didn’t complete.
I waited a bit and got an error message: “Turn in for “Zaqali Elders” failed. This quest’s unique reward already exists in your inventory. Remove it to complete this quest.” What am I supposed to remove? The unique reward is 925 gold. :'D All I had in my mailbox from the postmaster was a piece of tattered wildcloth.
Man, this is so annoying. 8 toons, only 2 got credit.
I know the answer to this now - it’s the “Cache of Embers” which is coded as Unique. All you have to do is open the cache and then fly away and back into the WQ area and it will complete and give you the loot, including the new Cache of Embers. Note that the Elders need to be alive to trigger the quest dialogue. After I realized I flew back and then just joined another group and as soon as they appeared the quest completed.
