Gnome Paladins.
Gnome Demon Hunters.
Character slots.

Tier sets. Like honestly i don’t care if forges get removed but this for me is very important because if not i have zero interest in sl expansion then. Probably won’t come back if it stays this way tier less.

to not be bfa 2.0…never mind shadowlands is bfa 2.0.

Make things account wide when they’re gated or grindy.

More focus on mythic+ in terms of bug fixes and class balancing and less focus on raid.

Get rid of honor talents and pvp gear scaling, bring back pvp gear

Account-wide, or at least faction-wide reputations. I would like to see more than a 10 level increase, capping it to 140 or better 150 would be nice, 20-30 extra levels you could do maybe 5-10 levels per zone maybe. I would like items and stuff that was removed from the game to be returned in some fashion, preferably the old way through a sort of time-walking event, MoP cloak comes to mind but pretty much everything that was removed to be returned, I am all for adding content, but removing it seems silly unless it was game-breaking. Also, the necromancer class would be a fun one for the expansion but please no more new allied races.

This is kind of a unique idea. Maybe as a part of each content patch they add 5 more levels? I doubt it will happen because of the level squish gossip, but it would be cool if 9.1 the level cap is 130, then 9.2 they up it to 135, then 9.3 140.

DH’s to share Veng. Retreat and Felrush, Eye Beam. If Illidan can why can we.

I am not a fan of the level squish and would hope it wouldn’t happen, but I do understand the psychological reasoning behind the squish should it occur. There may also be a technological reasons behind it as well. However, my hope is that it wouldn’t happen despite the evidence to the contrary.

What this guy said. Minus the LFR thing. I don’t care about that anymore.

Good raids and good dungeons for M+. I’m easy to please.

The level squish IS happening idk why you guys think it’s not set in stone? It was one of the big announcements at Blizzcon not a rumor.

My list is pretty simple

  • 3rd spec for DH which is ranged
  • DH tattoo color passes into Meta Form as well
  • Max level talent row (so in this case another row of talents when we hit 60)
  • Reputation shared only only for prior expacs. I think its bit off to do it for current expac
  • Another toy collection achievement. Should’ve had one in BfA but meh as long as I get another
  • Main stat on rings again so a +20 ilvl ring is an actual damn upgrade honestly.
  • A similar system like Mage tower that awards some cosmetic for your spec and/or class (solo ofc)

That is at least I can think of immediately

Cool. I wasn’t necessarily arguing for or against it. I was just saying progressive level cap over the course of an expansion seemed like a unique and cool idea that could have helped some of the item level creep problems that happened on the back end of last expansions. I’m fine with them planning a level squish, my main maxes out at 60 right now anyways.

I agree with everything except:

  1. I wouldn’t mind Pathfinder if you could unlock it at the start of the expansion. The wait is literally the worst part. I like not having to buy flying for alts.

  2. Having to run to dungeons for every group would be such a pain for getting randoms together, especially when one leaves for whatever reason. People are much more committed the group for M+ and raids.

  3. LFR is fine. People who don’t like it don’t have to do it.

Strong core gameplay that doesn’t revolve around dull, repetitive chores.

Less RNG, more player controll as it concerns gear.

More work on the various allied races. A lot of them feel half-finished.

Make other classes as fun to play and well designed as havoc DHs. I’m not asking for gliding and double jumping or identical rotations, just fun and engaging class design. Most of the classes are built around old design ideas and it shows.

I know it is happening. No where do I indicate it is not happening. This was a wish-list post, that is what I would wish to happen. While I think it is a silly idea to do and I was hoping to get to level 1000 one day it apparently doesn’t appear to be the case going forward, and I am okay with that. I’m not going to be all, “They need to change their mind or else I will quit” no, that’s petty. Your statement is not warranted as you claimed someone said something when the two you quoted did not say what you had claimed.

You said “should it happen” and the other guy talked about it as “gossip”. I don’t know how else that could be taken.

I included a brief explanation after each bullet point and formatted it to hopefully make it more readable. Here are my thoughts, roughly in order of importance (to me):

  • No more per-expansion character progression rentals.

Give us new tiers of talents and new baseline abilities. If that means ability bloat at high levels, then so be it. It means more choice.

  • Focus on class design and fantasy like we saw in Legion.

Our characters are more important than the story or the content, all of which we move beyond after each expansion, but we keep our characters.

  • Improve overall communication by hosting regular Q&As, developer blogs, and developer interaction via CMs.

When changes are made (particularly to class design), we want to know why and the thought process behind it.

  • Reduce number of convoluted game systems.

BfA was a prime example of gear systems on top of systems, all design to make character progression more palatable. It’s been a mess. The character and gear progression needs simplification and streamlining.

  • Simplify upgrades.

Blizzard has often stated the goal of having item level as the primary method for determining upgrades, yet this system has broken down in light of random bonuses, particularly with the 8.3 corruption system and inflation of secondary stats late in the expansion. Continue pushing for ilvl-above-all gear design. A mythic ring should be better than a heroic one, regardless of secondary stats. The stat weights should be close enough so that 15 item levels in stats budget is greater than the choice of stats. Stat weights should only come into play on sidegrades around the same item level.

  • No more dailies.

In Legion, WQs were introduced as an excellent evolution and successor to the old daily system. WQs are more flexible and allow players to time shift their activities by a few days as needed. They feel superior in every way over dailies. The return of dailies and the pressure to do them every day in BfA has been highly disappointing. WQs also help to prevent burnout, thanks to emissary caches being a more efficient way to do regular content. I’ve been doing WQs for the caches nearly every day since Legion (I still do some Legion caches, as well as the BfA ones), and I’m still not burned out of them. Dailies on the other hand, I’m very burned-out on, and this patch is still new.

  • Modernize the default UI.

Integrate some of the more popular features from other major add-ons such as custom pull timers, better debuff alerts, improved cast bar, and mobile frames. The UI doesn’t need to lose its classic look nor be an ElvUI clone, just clean it up and add some of the most common features from major add-ons. Think of the new AH UI as an ideal example of this. It’s clean, modern, and still feels like Blizzard. Can you imagine, for example, a larger, more visible cast bar themed after the ability type?

  • Continue to make good use of old content when appropriate.

Though many don’t like the idea of reused content, I applaud the developers for using such content when it makes sense. I was thrilled to have Dalaran back as the main city in Legion. I’m pleased to see Uldum and Vale used heavily in 8.3 (a pity they’re wasted on dailies and not WQs). I’d absolutely love to see our garrisons or class halls revisited in the future.

  • Do more with the mission table.

WoD went too far with allowing alts to completely gear-up via the mission table, as well as make enormous amounts of gold. BfA did too little by making the missions practically worthless. Legion hit a nice middle ground where you got okay rewards and it seemed useful throughout most of the expansion.

  • Do more with the concept of followers.

In WoD, we could have our followers tag along in the outside world. I’d love to have this again. It really added depth to the whole system. What if we could enlist our own alts as followers? Just use a generic class template combined with the model references, and basically we could have our own alts follow us around doing world content. How amazing would that be? Don’t have alts? No problem, you can still pick NPC followers.

  • Regional (not realm-bound) AH.

In the old days when realms were truly isolated, this made sense, but in the world of sharding and clustered realms, just standardize the game economies by region. Low-pop realms have really suffered lately due to slow economies.

  • Character surnames.

It’s well past time. Let us choose family/house/clan/tribe names for our characters. This would be especially appreciated among the RPers. This could also be useful for future realm mergers and changes whereby further character uniqueness is needed.

Okay, that’s all I can think of for the moment. I certainly think that some of these items, particularly the stuff at the top, is the most important, and others could be easily debated. If Blizzard even started looking at a few of the items in this list, I’d be thrilled.

I like to believe that Blizzard is still open to making positive changes to the game. Despite a host of issues in BfA, they’ve done some good technical work with the game client. They added solid multi-threading support at long last, ensuring that WoW isn’t CPU-bound on modern processors and performance scales better on multiple cores. They continue to push DX12 improvements (and Metal on Mac). Finally, they reworked the AH, which really hasn’t received the positive attention I think it deserves. It’s completely replaced my need for auction add-ons. I just throw what I want on there and walk away. (Sadly, the economy on my old RP realm is suffering and merchandise moves fairly slowly these days.)

So, all of these aforementioned things certainly do not indicate the game is in “maintenance mode” as some have claimed. No, I believe the devs are working hard to continue to improve the game, both under the hood and in game content and features. I just hope they are making better decisions with game systems and communication than they have been the last couple of years during BfA.

Blizzard has had a rough year of bad PR. They really need to make this next expansion shine by listening to the community and doing their best to implement changes based on quality feedback.

As many back transmogs that aren’t garbage cloaks that don’t look cool as possible! And better transmogs, BFA mogs were not good for the most part imo except pirate dungeon set and dazdalor
