I don’t know anything about the fight(s) but from what has been described, the raid encounter(s) seem over designed given Blizzard’s hardware/network limitations. Guess the design team figured on fixing (or nerfing away) any problems after it was beta tested in real time.

WOW is overdesigned? Surely you must be joking.
He said “given Blizzard’s hardware/network limitations”. Even the simplest of games can cripple a server if you run to many instances of it at the same time. The point he was trying to make is that as the raid goes up in difficult (which pretty much always means more mechanics the server most manage for each instance) the more resources are consumed. And with enough instances running, there are less and less resources for each to use. Eventually performance will suffer and things will start to break down.
Now if he is correct or not, we wouldn’t know without knowing how the data center manages server loads.
What evidence is there of this other than Ion is good at making raids? It’s not like you get anything special or extra by mythic raiding.
Casual player? Just go play the game.
mythic raider? Make sure you do your chores every day so you don’t get cut from the roster. Oh actually, sorry you did your chores, but bad dom shard rng, oopsie benchie bench time! Oh, you wanna be that covenant, dope, enjoy doing 20% less than the best one! Shame our systems take control out of your hands!
The argument that casuals are the blizz fave is much stronger. You could maybe argue timegating, but nothing is more timegated than LFR, so again not sure where the argument exists.
Id try to remove all addons and disable advanced combat logging.

At leas my wait for people to say something before you scream in outrage. It just makes you look angry all the time and out of touch.
Louder for the people in the back who will claim this is nonsense and that your computer is just the problem despite the overwhelming amount of people providing multiple instances of proof about how the lag in the current game is horrific and needs to be addressed.

Lag that’s out of my control during mythic progression would infuriate me. I hope they figure it out soon. It’s unacceptable. It might just be this old engine at this point. Didn’t whatever systems they implemented in BFA cause a lot of headaches/lag due to all the random procs stressing the servers hard. It’s why world bosses cause the lag they do I believe as well. This engine can’t handle all of the “procs”.
For FF14 end game content I had to use a VPN to get rid of the lag that would constantly kill me as a tank. I’m in Buffalo, the servers were in Canada and I still had an issue. I have Verzion FIOS fiber optic 1g up and down. Maybe routing changed somewhere?
Trying to imagine mythic raiders doing their raids with no addons and no raid logging. Mmm, nope, just can’t.

Let’s be clear the servers aren’t the real problem. It is bad coding causing most of the problems.
this isn’t about framerate drop. watch the very first video linked in the OP. it has nothing to do with the players’ PC specs.
Hilarious when people say this. Most of the time we don’t have working addons for PTR testing and we do fine on the super overtuned bosses. If the Blizz UI wasn’t so bad we wouldn’t need addons tbh.

The default UI is terrible. I need ELVUI to enjoy this game. FF14 has the same problem, that UI is atrocious.

Yeah it definetly couldn’t be that the people not having issues are on dead realms so they don’t encounter the amount of people others do in places like the maw and korthia
When as many people are having issues as has been reported across regions, your point goes out the window.

Hmph pathetic, not everyone that defends something is a white knight. I have gone against Blizzard plenty of times in the past. Now get your head out of your backside, and have a conversation without trying to insult me. Or are you admitting defeat and that is why you are going to insults?
