Your Servers Are Crap and Guilds Are Dying Because of It

Its more the shard route to US for retail. If oce stayed local they’d be fine. Classic OCE…this is its best feature. The ping is nice there, even for me coming from japan.

ITs the link to the US. Why I spent some coin to migrate to us servers.

One too many weeks of crap ping from hell. And here was was how I fixed it. I…logged into a US server. Saw ping drop from 400 to 150. Magic. I get a better run from Japan to US than I do from Japan to OCE to US.

Nerfing guilds in the past really hurt.

Dots/hots and abilities which affect other abilities cause a lot of strain on the server. That might be why some guilds are having more trouble with it than others. A resto druid is going to strain the server way more than a holy priest.

Why should players suffer for Blizzard’s bad designs?

You lag so hard the loot drops next week.

Until today I hadn’t heard of the Sylv issue, nor have I encountered it on Normal. But tonight on Heroic pulling Sylv caused a 2-3 sec delay on literally every pull. Looks like it wasn’t just us.

I get what you’re trying to say here, but in the interest of accuracy, you pay a sub to gain access to the game. Outside of that, you aren’t entitled to anything. The ToS doesn’t really guarantee that you will always have access.

That said, I agree that it’s really super irritating that the lag is so bad. It’s not only the super busy bosses, it also gets bad on the Fatescribe fight when you have all of the moving circles plus the little floaty gray balls. I’ve stopped putting world markers down to alleviate some of the issue, but what I would really like is for Blizz to fix it.

If this is about the world boss in the maw, what has been repeatedly noted is that the problems with it seem to be specific to the Chicago datacenter.

The lag on pull with Sylvanas seems to be universal.

The sub is for access to the servers. So they are one and the same. The ToS gives descriptions for downtime for maintenance and such as examples of when servers would not be available. But server lag that hasn’t been addressed isn’t one of them.

9.1 has been one of the most bug ridden patches in recent memory.

Dont forget all the weird lag that happens in Stitchflesh’s upper room, and the teleport area of TOP.

The only way to save the game is player housing, simple.

Scroll up Winsten, there is someone not far above you telling us “If anyone in the game doesn’t experience the same issue it may not actually be Blizzards end. It’s more like an ISP issue or some block between you and blizzard.”

Not once, but twice just responding to me that same dude has posted on this very thread trying to bait us into thinking it’s not a Blizzard issue. There are people here who try to white knight Blizzard for any and every reason, why I don’t understand, but they are here.

This was just another cost cutting measure so Bobby K could buy another yacht.

Through around Pandaria, Blizzard used to run its own servers for WOW, but they farmed it out to Amazon AWS at some point and rearchitected everything so that the servers try to “intelligently” use resources so they spend as little as possible. You basically get spikes all the time when there’s a lot of activity because it takes their resources time to ramp up. In other words, you pay the same price, they pay less, and the service blows.

It’s a complete scam. Paying $15 a month for service like this is laughable. Fighting Azuregos in 2005 was less laggy than this.

I mean, I haven’t had any consistent major lag issues in SoD.

I definitely could get them on Sire. Doing a 30man and having everyone get hit by the thing was kinda hilarious. I hadn’t had framerate drop like that since Elegon, Algalon, and Marrowgar.

As much as you’ve already tried to preempt comments that “I’m not having that problem” as white knighting (as a note: it’s not, it’s merely anecdotal evidence), I’m not having that problem.

I’ve also got reasonably good internet and I’m not running on a toaster.

However, one of WOW’s strengths is supposed to be being able to run on toasters, so it’s still kinda an issue if people are getting it.

Sylvanas was lagging on pull tonight. Fix please

I have a ludicrously fast computer (get over 100fps pretty much constantly) and a gigabit internet connection with 20ms ping to the server I was on and the game became a teleporting turdfest during outdoor bosses in Nazjatar.

Stop lying.

Everyone has the problem.

It’s the auto scaling of the AWS servers. It can’t ramp up fast enough.

It will never be fixed because they’d have to pay Amazon more to make it better and the whole point of the way they’ve set it up is that they pay almost nothing for the servers.

The bottom line is that WOW doesn’t really make that much money anymore relative to other Activision products and they’re putting in as little as possible until people finally stop taking it up the rear.

You having a problem does not mean I’m lying.

Joining a world boss raid lags me for about 5-10 seconds as my game adjusts to the server hop (unless it’s an OCE server and then I do get lag for obvious reasons).

Naj’jatar itself was almost completely empty of people outside of world boss raids so the server in general was fine.

I don’t have a problem. Miraculously every other game runs fine. It’s WOW.

You’re a dirt bag and shill trolling people. The truth is that you’re either too stupid to notice the lag or you’re simply lying. The overwhelming majority of people have the sensory perception to notice the lag spikes in SOD.
