It was a beast of a Pentium 4 with a whole 2 gigs of I think ddr2 ram and a 144 gig hard drive. And an Nvidia 540 vid card.
all i remember is it was 2004 and my PC had 256 mb ram, tube monitor, roller ball. It was soo bad. I think it was a pentium 1/2. Barely ran warcraft 3 too lol.
Oh you know the pain too.
Yeah it a was a laptop
lol it broke down not so long after playing wow nonstop when I first started
That computer was a Pentium III, 500 MHz. I’m guessing at the rest, but I probably had 128 megs of RAM in it, the video card would have been a GeForce 2 with 32MB maybe, the hard drive was probably 50 gigs, give or take.
17" 4:3 CRT that weighed like sixty pounds.
On this computer, I couldn’t use zeppelins or boats to move between continents because the zep or boat “in the world” would come and leave before my load screens finished. In other words, leave Org → Load Screen → Arrive at Org.
Good times.
That was maybe the seventh or eighth computer I had owned in my life, and I thought it was awesome at the time LOL.
Crappy laptop that I had to prop up and put a desk fan on full to keep it from overheating
My Dad headed the IT department at the local phone company. They had replaced all of their old computers with brand new ones, so he brought a couple of the old ones (which were due to be recycled) home with him and gave one each to my brother and I.
I don’t remember the exact specifications but it was a mid-range PC running windows XP meant for business around the time (2008ish–it was mid to late BC.) I think that it was a dual core but it may have still been a single core.
It ran WoW at around 20-40fps on lower settings. It ran the first fable game sufficiently and it ran Oblivion on medium settings at like 20 fps.
Not the best but it was a big upgrade over my Compaq from like 1999-2000 that struggled to play Morrowind.
Good times. I only have a couple of memories of my time playing WoW on that computer. They’re mostly in Thousand Needles and the Eastern Plaguelands.
I still remember my first PC when I started playing World of Warcraft. My first PC ran Windows XP Home Edition and it had an NVIDIA card in it. I cannot recall the kind of NVIDIA card it was however.
Also, My first PC was a custom build from the local computer shop in a town I used to reside in.
I can’t remember only thing i can vision from back then all the video ,sound cards I burned up. Hey, me and machines never had a good relationship. It was that bad I even place a quartz crystal on it help it stay balanced.
Yes! It crashed the first time I tried to enter a building in the Vanilla beta so I uninstalled WoW and played Guild Wars instead.
I had an old compact that I was using in college. God, what a piece of trash that thing was lol.
Would have been '08. I remember an Asus board, Northbridge architecture, raid 0 Raptor pair 70 GB. I think I o/c’d a 2.4 chip to 3.0. I also had a core2duo laptop I sometimes played on. Things were different then.
I had a crappy 2008 Compaq Presario running Windows Vista and no dedicated GPU when I started in December 2009. It was my family’s third Compaq, and when it became FUBAR four years later, my folks wisely decided to get an ASUS and later the HP that I’m using now.
It’s quite a trip down memory lane thinking of all the computers I’ve ever owned. I certainly can’t remember all the details but some of the downloaded datasheets help give me a nudge.
All I remember is that it was a dell. What I remember more is playing with dial up internet which was brutal at times.
This guy right here that I’m posting on, since Day 1.
I’ve changed servers and even race/name changed him a few times…but always changed him back to Gathraku, green skinned orc
I don’t remember the specs but it was the first pc I put together. Part of a school electronics project. We had the whole semester to build them then do busy work like spreadsheets. But there were many games of counter strike played when we had free time.
I always build my own PC. I still remember mine
Pentium 4 2.6C Ghz
Asus P4P800
GEIL 512MB DDR400 X2
Leadtek 6600 GT 128MB DDR3
Seagate 200GB 7200rpm
Enlight 300W PSU and case
Same PC as I have now!
Started last year on my Intel Hades Nuc. I think I’ll be able to push it until 2022.
motherboard: asus a7n8x-e deluxe
CPU: AMD Seperon 2400+ 1.67ghz
Video: Radeon 9600 SE AGP 8x
Ram: 512mb of PC3200 (ddr400)
Hdd: 80gb IDE
generic case and powersupply
I built that PC back in around 2003
Compaq Presario
