Classic WoW really isnât 1.12, itâs merely based on Classic WoW data with several other older Data sources used to give us parts of the original pre 1.12 experience.
Older data components are being used to give us old loot tables, old loot drop locations, and so on. This stuff is not native to the 1.12 dataâŚ
Cross realm and no-Cross realm were both in Vanilla. Blizzard will have to decide. I would argue that CRBG were only in Vanilla for the final patch. Leaving them out would better represent the Vanilla experience.
They are gating those until a phase that would be relevant. They arenât removing anything.
So should they do the same with cross realm? Gate them until the final phase?
Right now people are advocating for the flat out removal of a feature of 1.12. They want cross realms to never be a part of classic WoW, despite them being a part of vanilla.
How can we have an authentic recreation when you remove a core patch feature? Itâs like censoring the end of a movie because you didnât like it.
There are any number of things Blizz could do - put the PVE realms into a Battlegroup and leave the PVP realms to duke it out among themselves, maybe pre-announce a battlegroup and server list, with other servers stand-alone and let people just vote with their feet, start the servers out with a pop cap of say 8000 and allow for shrinkage down to a more manageable 4k, cross realm stuff wouldnât be needed to keep queues moving. We wonât know till Blizz tells us.
I do think realm management is going to be a real challenge at startup. They just have no idea how big Classic is going to be or where it will settle.
I would prefer not to have Cross-Realm BGS, though I do understand why it was implemented.
For myself, I lost a lot of interest in PVP and Battlegrounds once it they switched to Cross-Realm because I had gotten used to going up against certain players of the opposite faction and that was a lot of the fun. It just wasnât nearly as fun anymore when I might only run across a group once or twice a week.
I found it more fun after XRBG, I loved the change up in enemies with new strats and builds. I also remember doing a weekend of bgs and going against the same people many times. It isnt infinite its a battlegroup. You still go against the same group of people, its just larger like its a World warâŚ
They should hold off on XRBG until most of the tourists have left though. That way they can build the battle groups to help balance the factions in bgs a little.
Iâm for them.
They were in classic prior to the tbc prepatch and therefore were and are classic. I played before they were implemented and after, they were a welcome change even being on a high pop realm, Dragonmaw.
People seem to forget those old battle groups only consisted of what 4 maybe 5 realms? So you still went against the same old pvp gods from your own realm and new ones as well, you even got to know them just like your own realm, unlike today where itâs a massive pool of realms from every corner of the earth and you donât recognize anyone.
Like has been brought up earlier if we remove crbgs which were introduced in 1.12 do we then revert the class balancing that happened in 1.12 as well which has been widely accepted as the most complete form of class balancing for classic?
Enough already. We get it. You want a BfA sort of Classic. Of course, you will deny it, so that you feel as though people will not ignore you. You literally vote for everything BfA-like. Maybe you accidentally keep viewing the wrong forums.
If you really want to play with a bunch of anonymous garbage tier players who make absolutely no effort to play the round because there are no social consequences for being worthless, the majority of whom donât even speak your language, you can get that âjoyfulâ experience on live.
I really liked same-realm queues back in the day, but I do not believe Classic could sustain the numbers of players needed for all brackets to have good queue times. I think what Iâd want to see is same-realm to start with. The problem is as populations dwindle, queues will get worse and worse depending on how âbadlyâ you picked your server. And yelling on a forum will not make people come back to play the game to improve your queue times⌠lol
CRBGS were not like that. For starters a few realms (like 4-5 as stated earlier) that are all in the same time zone and server type. Is not what we have on live.
Also if a majority of them dont speak your language. Its sounds like your in the wrong server group bro. hahaha
