Rock and metal always. Anything from Iron Maiden to Breaking Benjamin to Muse to Sabbath to Amon Amarth to Sabaton to Three Days Grace to Disturbed to Alter Bridge to Megadeth to Blaze Bayley to The Agonist to Death to Lacuna Coil to Korn to Chevelle, and many others in between.
The in-game music, especially at the beginning of an expansion, to take in the ambience.
Lo-fi

Mostly death/thrash
Slayer, cannibal corpse, death, obituary ect along with some more modern bands.
Not music exactly…
I’ve gotten away from listening to music while gaming, and have my iPad set up next to my monitor so I can stream old shows I know and love, but haven’t seen in ages and want to revisit, like Lost, BSG (2004), Firefly, and I’m currently on S7 of The X-Files.
Don’t want to watch anything new, since it’s not my primary focus.
I’ll definitely be listening to the game when SL launches, for awhile at least.
I generally prefer some high energy electronic, dance, hard bass for the most part while gaming and driving. Stuff like Dance with the Dead, Dj Blyatman, Scooter, and Lektrique. Also enjoy me some electroswing like Caravan Palace.
Side question: Did they break the forums or is it just me? None of the videos play through the forums directly anymore lol.
No, I’ve been having problems with imbedded stuff too.
Also, this is the most awesome retro 80s ever.
I listen to Joy Division… basically all the time.
K, I needed this in my life and never new it.
The FFXIV soundtrack, obviously.
Darude’s Sandstorm, obviously.
Daft Punk for when I’m PvPing, Daft Punk for when I’m leveling and Daft punk for when I’m doing random stuff.
I may or may not really like Daft Punk
<3 The Daishi in the pic. My favorite Mech. 100 tons of “Get Rekt!”
For me? It depends. When I log in for raids? I’ll usually blare the Godzilla theme. For fights with a lot of movement and mechanics (Coven from Antorus comes to mind) I love this track: https://youtu.be/rve6hV6Ml1Q
That’s my jam.
I’m actually partial to the music that commonly gets set to video game montages. I think one of the bands that’s frequently used is Neffex. I don’t know what genre of music this is, so I just call it “Video Game Trailer Music” because video game trailers seem to be in the same genre. Maybe the trailers for League of Legends would be another good example of it.
