If Blizzard considered it small enough to give such a hardline “no” to, I imagine the number was insignificant enough for them not to be moved by the movement to get dual spec.
Again, it’s not dishonesty simply because it argues a point that isn’t great for your case.
Is it? “Not everyone” voted for Biden means that according to you the number of Trump votes is “vanishingly small.” “It’s not a majority” of Americans that need food stamps means the number who get food stamps is “vanishingly small.” Not everyone gets an abortion and it’s not a majority that needs to means according to you the number of abortions is vanishingly small.
I’m probably in favour of an Arena only “dual spec”. Only because Blizzards changes already screwed up participation, and because arena already operates under a somewhat segregated ruleset.
It’s a band aid fix that doesn’t really impact on a lot of players though and doesn’t address the core problem that Blizzards “improvements” to the original system completely nobbled participation rates …
I’ve literally never played retail. I quit WoW in 2009 during the launch of WOTLK. I’ve literally only played Vanilla, TBC and Classic as well as TBC/Vanilla private servers. Many good P servers had dual spec because it removes a pointless barrier to play the game.
Your Crying about retail features is hilarious to me, especially because dual spec doesn’t exist in retail.
This is a 15 year old game remastered.
TBC will die.
Wrath will die.
Classic is already dead.
I and a handful of players will play each expansion.
I still play Classic.
I will keep playing TBC.
I will keep playing Wrath.
I have been playing these for the past 12 years on private servers.
You and everyone else will move back to retail do to boredom.
I will not play retail.
There is no need for dual spec. The game did not have it until WOTLK originally and the game continued to grow during original classic, and original TBC. Peaked at WOTLK and CATA IIRC. So saying the game is dying because of lack of dual-spec, might be the exact opposite. It’s changes to the game like dual-spec (and boosts, and server transfers et al) that are part of the downfall of the classic experience. I don’t discount that YOU and MANY others want dual-spec. Doesn’t mean it’s good for the game or the real reason YOU are bored.
“Go back to retail” as a refrain when people mention dual spec simply means they never played TBC or Wrath and they’re making an assumption in ignorance. I’ve shut down so many people who have falsely assumed this by simply asking them,
“Is WotLK a Retail game?”
If they say yes, I mention the fact that Seal of the Martyr was also introduced during Wrath and it’s also in TBC Classic. Ergo, TBC Classic has Retail features and so adding Dual Spec is no exception.
If they say no, then Dual Spec is not a retail feature and they’ve lost that argument.
So you admit Dual Spec was introduced during its “peak”, and yet you then say this:
I just don’t understand how you can write three sentences together that all simultaneously contradict each other. You’re basically saying the game peaked during its downfall. How is the game rising in popularity and falling at the same time?!
They don’t contradict. When you are standing on the peak, there is nothing but DOWN. What may have caused the downfall of WoW? Most point to the changes. from Vanilla…and even TBC. The flagship of changes that started the avalanche of point of no-return probably was LFG tool. But I digress…
I think it is more important to you that you are right, based upon what you have written so far. So I wish you no ill-will, but this isn’t really a forum post as much as it is just a shouting match where you wish to vent and not listen.
Good luck to you! the game is fun, even without dual-spec. maybe try another class or specialization for your existing one.
Slipper Slopes are inherently fallible. It’s why they’re listed among the long list of “fallacies.”
There is no “slope” when Retail is just as if not more popular than Classic WoW. By that measure, TBC can only go upwards not backwards as you and your little doomsayer cult likes to perpetuate.
