Stay out of trade chat.
I donât say anything really, as soon as they hear that you have to pay a monthly subscription on top of the base game they say âno thanksâ
voices in my head are not my real friends.
I let my friend try wow⌠they play other mmoâs but said âwow is for angry boomersâ so he didnât want to try at first⌠when he did play he didnât really get why the alliance and horde were fighting eachother no matter how hard I tried to explain they were bitter enemies. The fact that he could see horde and alliance workign together to kill nâzoth confused him. The fact that the planet has a soul confused him, the fact that we wear that soul on our neck confused him. and the sheer amount of buttons to press confused him.
He was overwhelmed with how many buttons were on the bars (I have alot of toys on my characterâs action bars) he is used to like 5 buttons on screen max from other mmoâs
So a newcomer to the game says âIts very confusing, the story doesnt match up between expansions and everyone is angry in dungeon and raid finderâ
Itâs an amazing adventure!
I ask them where theyâve been for the last 2 decades to just now be interested in WoW.
BfA leveling content isnât bad, itâs very similar to old WoW in a way. Remember the HoA and everything associated with it is gone in SL. When you get to the part in Boralus/Zandalar where Magni shows up and has you go get the heart? That just doesnât happen, you go right from the intro to choosing a zone. Those zones are (IMO) very well designed and nicely self-contained, and even the 10-50 portion of the war campaign avoids most of the irritating story.
Remember that a new player in SL will go from the new starting zone (which is awesome), direct to BfA - no War of Thorns, no Battle of Lordaeron, no Heart of Azeroth, minimal War Campaign, and none of the post-cap campaign stuff like Nazjatar and anything involving Jaina or Sylvanas. Youâll likely hit 50 in your 3rd zone, depending on how much questing you do aside from the major campaigns, and youâll be off to Shadowlands before you get into the parts of BfA that were bad.
wait until shadowlands unless you want to play last minute catch up in BFA. It is very doubtful that a new player would be able to speed level to max and see the content so i wouldnât suggest retail to them until SL.
âNo, too hard to start from nothing in this, Iâll play ff14 with you.â
Sorry, you canât play the race you want. You have to play one of these races if you want to join the guild. Sorry.
Worst multiplayer decision ever. The faction divide.
Try it, but do only things YOU want to do and ignore everything else no matter how much others will say otherwise and dictate how you should play. Oh and stay away from wow community.
Iâd tell them to ask me again next year for an honest opinion. Iâd love to level with them, but only if they decide to play entirely on their own!
This happened very recently. And I helped him buy heirlooms, and am tanking for him. My bf is healing. Our friend is a mage. I have some pets that never sell on the AH that Iâm gonna give him too.
Red is the way buddy
Wait for the expansion to drop.
Better roll horde if you want to win.
My gal decided to play with me during Covid. She was instantly overwhelmed by the level of RNG and had like no fun playing in PVP etc. Itâs too much to come into right now.
Itâs such a fine line on letting them discover the game on their own and helping them. Too little help and they could get discouraged and give up. Too much help and they wonât feel any reward or attachment to anything in the game.
Fine line indeedâŚ
If you want to party sync with them so you can quest in Azeroth to level to 120 then follow the instructions here https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/11555 for " Already have a WoW account". Once you click âCreate a new accountâ youâll have a second account on your bnet launcher, launch that account and youâre account then create a new level 1 and group with it on your 110. That way you can party sync and quest in Azeroth.
