It would have completely turned things on its head and managed to make things more interesting (instead of a near-copy of the OG episodes).
In hindsight, I’m surprised they didn’t do it. Would have paved the way for more (bad) movies.

Pfft, you think they’re done with the Star Wars franchise? Oh no, they are going to keep that milk flowin’. But yeah, was pretty bummed with that movie. All that build up and internal conflict goin’ on that lead to nothing.
