Playing Mario Bros 3 and Donkey Kong Country 2 with my granddad in his little make-shift gaming room of SNES and N64 games. Couldn’t have asked for a better granddad.
I also loved Super Mario World, DKC 1 and 3, and Mario Bros 2, gotta love Peach.

You might be the first person I’ve met who remembers Secret of Evermore!
Some of you need to check out the super metroid / a link to the past crossover. It’s absolutely awesome fun.
Super Mario RPG was so clutch.
NES:
Dragon Fighter
The Guardian Legend
Metroid
RBI Baseball
Super Mario Bros. 3
SNES:
F-Zero
Breath of Fire
Super Street Fighter II: Turbo
Actraiser
Aerofighters
One NES game I’ve always loved and feel gets overlooked is Little Nemo. In so many ways, it’s a quintessential NES game – the graphics, the music, etc.
Chrono Trigger and the final fantasy games.
All time favorite…definitely Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Very close runners up:
Super Mario Allstars
Super Mario World
Mario RPG
SimCity
Sidenote…I still have the SNES I got for christmas when I was 12. That was 24 years ago. It still works flawlessly. All the games work. All the original controllers work. Games still have my old old saves on them. They don’t make them like that anymore.
Been a while, Spinal and Fullgore were my favorite, my neighbor used to pick Cinder because of the easy combos.
Killer Instinct was definitely my favorite SNES fighting game. I was Jago all the way.
Could you imagine the uproar of today over, Orchids, fatality like move.
They better not shlut-shame Orchid.
I had to misspell it because the forum wouldn’t let me post it.
Oh man… Way too many for me to narrow down to just one each. Off the top of my head, Dragon Warrior, Faxanadu, Megaman 1-6, Kick-Master…
SNES gets harder for me since it’s my favorite console of all time. Final Fantasy III (VI), Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, Super Castlevania, Castlevania Dracula X, Super Metroid, Megaman X 1-3, Mario World, Super Street Fighter II, Star Fox, Donkey Kong Country 1-3 and too many more I can’t even remember right now. No way I could ever pick one.
I’ve spotted, Sabrewulf!!! ^^^
I was a Riptor main all day every day!
All three of the Donkey Kong Country games and Yoshi’s Island.
That’s slightly less annoying than, Spinal, mains.
Did anyone mention Blaster Master in the NES category? If not that’s a shame.
I was never a Blaster Master guy. Faxanadu and Kick-Master were the hidden gems I grew up on. Those games need more love.
For me it was, The Guardian Legend, and Dragon Fighter. I would tell the kids at school about them, and they were like, you mean, Dragon Warrior? NO!! I do not! I mean, Dragon FIGHTER! Gimme your lunch moneys nao!
Remember when games came with manuals? Or even maps and guides? Those were half the fun of getting a game. I spent so many hours just looking through game manuals.
