Your Bets: Prepatch 22nd or 29th?

Honestly… changing my answer to the 29th. Since nothing has been announced yet. I agree with the people who don’t think any later than that is possible.

It seems ridiculous to not have it last at least a month, considering these events are a once-only affair and people really ought to have a nice amount of time to level up alts with the new systems and also get used to class changes.

Plus BfA has been a disaster and leaving peopel stuck in 8.3 for even longer isn’t going to help anyone.

I’ll say the 29th, 6th maybe.

Literally one of druid’s best covenants is probably the only one with a penalty attached.

Odd take. I think they are more concerned with getting the game out asap than anything else, especially because the more important holidays are coming up that WILL disrupt early tuning and hotfixing of bugs.

My bet is on the 29th at the earliest and if that is the case they will announce it sooner than later. My reasoning is so that it gives everyone a chance to attempt 1 more Stormwind and Orgrimmar Horrific Visions for the title/mount that is going away come pre-patch. The Horrific Visions themselves are not going away but we know that the 5 mask solo achievement for the mount and title are getting axed.

Not to mention there is usually a 1-2 week notice for the end of the PvP season.

At the earliest my money is on the 29th at this point.

It is the 29th.

I wish the 22nd…I know the 29th, simply because it arriving on the 22nd would be a blessing lol.

More important holidays? Important in game holiday? Actually none are important, Hallow’s End just happens to be my favorite.

Next, besides any anniversary plans there’s a whole two holidays after Hallow’s End. Pilgrim’s Bounty and Feast of Winter. It also wouldn’t be the first time Blizzard dropped an expansion on top of the anniversary and I wouldn’t expect anything off the wall like last year as this is not a milestone. I do love how you had to capitalize WILL like any of the other holidays will have any different affect on tuning.

There’s a 3 week gap between Hallow’s End and Pilgrim’s Bounty it would have fit nice in.

Last point, it was posted more jokingly than anything. So this is the point where I tell you, you SHOULD lighten up.

Edit: OH and prepatch is the 29th.

I think the first week of November was going to be off the table regardless. That it falls during an in game holiday is unfortunate, and quite shocking, but I think the real world holidays are a bigger factor. So delaying it out would be even harder to schedule everything.

My one question is how will they handle the holiday boss? Will they treat level 50 as level cap to be eligible to get a chance at the mount, or will people have to wait until post launch and rush to 60 to make attempts?

Pretty sure the 29th is all but set in stone at this point unless they consolidate the prelaunch event.

Since the pre-patch is being split into two to give us the new customization stuff before the pre-patch event my money is part one is the 22nd and part two is the 29th.

22nd Is no longer possible due to end of PvP season. Pre-patch will be on the 29th with the 2nd a couple of days before launch.

From the sounds of it all the first pre-patch is supposed to be is the character creator/barber shop update. Which means it doesn’t matter when the pvp season ends since it doesn’t affect any game play.

The first part also includes the Level Squish and all the class changes so it will affect PvP season. The second part is Shadowlands data.

Punting on the release date gets lawyers involved, so I’m going to bet that doesn’t happen.

Absolutely ZERO chance of that.

Agreed. I have a feeling 9.1 might be a very LARGE patch with more mechanical changes then what we normally see during an expansion.

Well atm you can que the Horseman level 20 and up. I forget at what level the pumpkin bag goes from blue to purple with a chance at the mount. I have the mount so that isn’t a concern for me.

Like I said I mainly said it as a goof. I made the weekend after launch a 4 day weekend and I usually don’t go full steam leveling the first day anyway so I’ll still get to enjoy a good part of Hallow’s End.

I know the real life holidays are coming but to think this will disrupt early tuning and hotfixes is pretty laughable. Allow me to provide some examples…

WotLK launch date: November 13th, 2008
Cata launch date: December 7th, 2010
WoD launch date: November 14th 2014

There’s also the scourge invasion and all that goes along with that.

Pre patch doesn’t look interesting.
Look at when PVP season ends, and when the rep buff ends and you’ll get an idea of when.
