The guy who implied you work for Blizzard is either an idiot or a troll, possibly both. Try not to let people like that bring you down.
I think if you love something, like WoW, and if you see something wrong you should point it out. Players who are not constructive and counterproductive should be ignored (like the guy you quoted). Feedback is a good thing, albeit not in the ways many here choose to voice their dissatisfaction.
They didnât down me they downed another fellow gamer who is still having fun. And itâs the OP you want to agree with so readily. They do this on the daily and I wish it were just them but really take the time to read more posts and see what people who are still having fun are subjected to.
I am all for people getting to put their two cents out there, but this is a general discussion forum, and plenty are no longer looking for a dialogue anymore. I donât blame the blues at all for not being as active as they were in the past. Even making a simple announcement had them subjected to various levels of abuse and even threats, when they are only in fact there to maintain order and share news.
It wouldnât but I do like the concept of character-progression to an extent. I do think essences should be made easier to acquire on alts, if one has already unlocked them on their main.
Yeah I was looking forward to playing my alt monk in the my alt guild raid but then I read up that itâs bis neck essence was from exalted rajani and I just shelved the idea. Way to obliterate fun blizz!
I really donât understand whatâs so wrong with that? Blizzard removed tier sets and added Titan Residuum so dungeons can be an alternative gearing route thatâs completely separate from raiding. PvP is also like this (but they do need their vendors back because they still need to PvE a lot).
I already put away 12 hours of my to dedicate to raiding, I shouldnât have to play 7 hours a day doing every form of content in order to be at my best for raids, it makes no fricken sense.
I became an active player again Xmas 2019 when I received a sub as a gift and I am having a blast wandering around this amazing world again.
But that doesnât mean I am happy about the amount of significant content I have lost due to people demanding the game be less immersive, less complicated and less challenging.
And I have to admit a part of me finds all this arrogant/entitled/self-absorbed. I am a solo player but I am not crying to Blizzard that they remake the game to satisfy my playing style (after all, the second M does stand for multi-player and I knew that going in). Instead I am trying to clear as much content as I can at whim before the pre-patch drops and I lose my ability to run older content solo⊠again.
Some of us donât want account-wide grinding for rep because it we know how they would monkey paw that wish. What we want instead is either the commendation system from MoP or the tabard system from WotLK.
Yeah, the way theyâve tied the neck, azerite gear, corrupted gear and cloak all together weâve got no choice but to do it all or none of it, my main will be up to date but thereâs no way in hell i have time to even keep one alt up to speed.
I think youâre dreaming if you think that thereâs a snowballâs chance in hell of getting an entirely new dev team in but i understand the sentiment.
Why do so many people think that just because ONE of your characters did something that they should ALL get credit? That logic makes no sense to me. MMORPGs, RPGs, etc have historically NOT shared credit for things. Making more than one character meant devoting time to the other character in many of the same ways as the original. They have lessened the time it takes to get essences such as lower rep requirements, in essence speeding them up for alts. Stop asking to have everything given to you.
If you want multiple characters min/maxed you will have to put in the effort for each one. It is not a one time thing at which point you can shuffle around to whatever other character you want and still be equal to your main. You CAN play alts that do not have the highest level cloak, best essences, etc you know.
The major difference is this issue has been brought up by many people on the forums, other sites and multiple streamers. So, it is not just me. It is other customers as well. Sad you resort to attacking me instead of the idea.
Youâve done this to me in other posts of the like. Want to hear how I feel? Probably not but here goes.
There has always been a grind. Now gear is pretty much moot since the loot pinata is the new norm, and that is where the game has gone for quite a few expacs now. I donât miss the days of 3-4 pieces dropping off a boss, nor do I miss waiting 8 months for a piece to drop. To go even further with that I donât miss MC style raiding either where we got shaman pieces on alliance side when we didnât have that class even available to us.
The grind now is the rented power abilities and I am more than ok with that. I get you only think itâs a small portion of the community but if you are using the forums as a marker of how the community feels at as whole, youâd probably be shocked to know that there are more people that enjoy this new style of the game than you think.
Why I donât want account bound essences is pretty much what I have described above. They are really the only thing that requires any time commitment, and really I canât comprehend how people here in the forums canât see this with all the welfare gear comments literally coming out of the same peoplesâ mouths. To have things handed to these everyone just because theyâve completed it once ruins the spirit of the game, alts are just that alternative characters, they are by no means supposed to be on par with mains that you put all the work in on.
I like the fact that Mechagon rep can be boosted on alts with their BOA rep tokens, but to get the mats you have to do the work. I am not for them being sold for gold, since that in essence would make the game pay to win when you can easily buy the rep with a token. If they did more of that style Iâd be game, but to just hand the reps over without requiring some amount of work just goes against the whole spirit of WoW. Same goes for tabards, if they brought them back with a daily cap Iâd have no issues, again, you are putting in time for the rewards.
If the essences stay for next expansion I am all for earning them again and again with each alt. Yet⊠with Blizzard and their themepark style of design this will more likely not happen or only work for so many levels. Personally after 15 years off and on, I am to the point of playing alts non stop. Told the wife today this is the last alt I will be grinding for essences.
You will grind Anima for Soulbinds (think unlockable traits) Which are your rental powers for Shadowlands. Of course you will need to grind this on your alts if you want these traits unlocked.
However they are going back to the Valor Points system where the amount of Anima you can earn is capped per week.
