Classic is a collection of people that just hate doing mythic raiding and M+ dungeons.
You’ll get every excuse under the sun as to why… so what’s the point of rallying people to make that point?

Indeed. The most common such religion is “The sacred bashing against Classic with weak arguments”.
Many people want to play Classic “forever”. That’s why in addition to TBC, Blizzard should launch fresh servers. Many players went through multiple cycles of vanilla progression on private servers. There is no reason to believe it would be different now. Many people want to play TBC, true. So what? That’s a different game.
Long before Classic launched, threads with hundreds of likes were made asking Blizzard to implement 1.5 AV instead of 1.12 AV. #NoChanges demanded no deviation from Vanilla, not deifying 1.12. Many no changers were for true progressive patch cycles, with talent trees changing etc. People asking for 1.5 AV aren’t asking for change from Vanilla, they are asking for the version of AV which was present for the larger part of Vanilla than the 1.12 AV catastrophe.
It’s not like Vanilla had GMs and Classic doesn’t? Oh, wait… Don’t pretend that Blizzard’s incompetence and low funding means Vanilla is more flawed than it is. Classic requires higher customer support maintenance than retail by design. Not having that support in itself is a CHANGE.
