Not much else to do in classic besides raid and PvP. You can farm for pets and mounts but the options are much more limited in classic then they are in retail. You can grind reputations but reputations are a means to raid. So…

Classic isn’t the Vanilla experience. You’d need a time machine and memory wiper to get that experience again.
So you’re right. But retail could learn from vanilla. Making it closer to and RPG for one.

yeah pvp isnt a thing, gold farming isnt a thing, crafting items isnt a thing you can do to progress is it?

Anyone who hyped it up for more than what it was deserved what they got. Anyone who didn’t enjoyed, and is still enjoying, what it is/was.
I’m one of them, got a priest a bit into BWL before deciding I was done because ZG was where I stepped into raids back when I was a kid playing Vanilla.

Yeah, the issue is that for Classic to work it had to accomodate to the new mindset of people, the people playing today is not the same people that played back in the day and not only that, the game has been completely figured out for 15 years.

I have nothing that I could give you, I can’t even log in into retail since I don’t have BFA.
Something I wish they’d take from classic is making professions useful again instead of being a thing you just kind of grind for no real reason in some cases. Most of the gold I make from professions in retail is from old classic and TBC recipes and not from the current expansion.

You can do all those in retail but guess what?, you can actually progress unlike classic where you are FORCED to Raid.

Classic is an entirely different game. It cannot be compared to retail at all. Classic is the better GAME for a lot of people, because it is completely different. All the nonsense you typed there was purely an opinion and all of your “cons” are exactly why classic was the preferred game.
Creating a group is (was) easy depending on server population. Yes being social is a GOOD thing. It changes your mentality and behavior to your fellow players. You pay 50g because your spec is supposed to matter, not be an ARPG tier ability list. The entire game is meant to be enjoyed, just because you don’t enjoy going out on your slow mount and gathering resources to gain gold so you can buy that nice blue off the AH and would rather guide the stupid turtle to the goal for 500th time on retail doesn’t mean its bad. It means you prefer a different game.
Don’t even get me started on the #nochanges. DAY ONE blizzard had changes. Don’t act like they haven’t butchered classic with these since the very beginning.
People boost because the possibility is there. Of course there are going to be people who want to boost up an alt to rank grind or fill in a vacancy in their raid, that’s a modern society issue not a game issue. The game isn’t boring because they don’t want to do STV for the 10th time in a row.
Everyone should come to classic who is bored. Come to servers that are medium or low pop, don’t go to a megaserver. We would love to have you and despite this gloomy OP who confuses his impatience and need for a constant dopamine injection with the 5 epic drops per dungeon run, it’s a FANTASTIC game and community.
