For me, part of it is being on a brand new server, forced to work WITH your community to get quests done, build up your AH, etc. Last night we formed a ritualistic circle around Zalasanes corpse, some of us were there for 30 minutes chatting while waiting to finish. Joined a guild, met several people that I added, it was great. That doesnt really happen in retail anymore…at least not for me.
Oh absolutely. That is a huge part of it.
In two evenings of playing I have started or been invited to more groups of randoms than I have in the past 4 or 5 expansions combined. The sense of a community working together to conquer this massive and dangerous world is very compelling.
