That is the fix. I don’t even know what you’re talking about with keys and whatnot. M+ has zero to do with compromised accounts and bots spamming instances for gold farming and whatnot.
You sit here and spout rage about how it’s such a small percentage, when you don’t even realize that you are the small percentage, as well. I’ve run into this a whole twice in my 14 years of playing. You’ll survive.
It’s not a fix. I don’t know what narrative you’re trying to push with the whole “I’m mad” or “I’m in the minority” (which I acknowledge I am of the few people in this case MAYBE annoyed with it); however, this isn’t stopping people from abusing people with bots. There is a VERY minor amount of gold that you can make from dungeon loot and that doesn’t even account for how long it takes you to walk around. Compromised accounts are even a smaller fraction of that and then utilized to farm an instance.
In my OVER 15 years, I’ve run into people like you, complaining about people like me, over things that don’t effect you in any way who have an opinion on the subject just to have an opinion.
There ARE solutions to this… Adding to a cooldown from utilizing the LFG tool SHOULD NOT IMPACT a player PAYING for a live service game. It’s just dumb and poor planning.
…and just because most people have learned to live with the lockouts, doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect them… it just means they don’t need to complain about something which only becomes an issue a few times a year
Its to limit the stress on instance servers. Simple as that. And the timer starts the moment you join one instance, and lasts for an hour. You can only enter I believe ten instances an hour.
Botanica and its bots would like to say otherwise. Perhaps before you start flipping out on others, you should do some research.
People like me? What does that even mean?
And where exactly did I complain about you?
What are you even talking about? Things that don’t affect me? I literally said I’ve run into this before. So yeah, it did affect me. And what opinion? I quoted you a blue post specifically answering this topic that you came here to complain about. I told you this was their fix. Because it is.
You didn’t come here with an idea that people shot down. You came here with outrage and questions and then tried to rail against the reasons that were given to you as to why this exists, while trying to blame us for giving you the answers to your questions, as if we did something wrong.
Ah, yes… the whole “I have 12 months more time playing, so that makes me better than you” jab.
Yes. And this is one of their solutions. Sorry you don’t like it. Don’t blame us. We’re not the bots or people who steal accounts.
You’ve sat here, insulted and lectured people and complained, but have you even made a suggestion to Blizzard on a way to change it? Did you submit said idea to the in game suggestions? Because that’s what you need to do if you actually have a solution to this.
When I was in my crusade of getting every classic/BC transmog available, I got that message many times, it is pretty easy to trigger if you are targeting specific bosses and then reset the instance.
WHY the hell is there a 0.02% drop rate on this stupid mount ><
Seriously that is a 1 in 5000. ONE IN FIVETHOUSAND!!! Blizzard seriously! On a mount that drops once a year only for only 2 weeks…
With those drop rates we should be able to que the same toon up all day over and over if we want. Not this one try per toon per day >< My over 50 alts are not cutting it, even with all them for 2 weeks straight I have almost no chance of seeing the mount…
I honestly don’t think it’s that low. I think the numbers are just skewed because of the way it’s run. Granted, it’s still probably only a 1% droprate and it is crazy to be tht low, but I guess they figured if we all got the mount easily, we’d never run it again.
I think they need to up the droprate and start adding more stuff to holidays instead. That seems like a more engaging solution.
What? I said that it’s most likely an insignificant amount and I would assume that it’s something that can be monitored.
I like my friends in game who have played for some time. Without them, I wouldn’t say it’s a fan but more of something we can do all together. I could go on some diatribe on how this game has gutted the soul of fun and content and supplanted it with grindy needless content.
The problem is the fan boys are basic sycophants and accept whatever comes down the chute like a bunch of baby birds with their mouths open for whatever mama bird regurgitates up for them. No 8.3.5, assets being reused and a whimper of storyline somewhat underwhelming. To further that point, corruption gear seems to be legion artifacts 2.0 and if there is anything to glean from the fact they are nerfing every single one because they’re too overpowered. If all that wasn’t bad enough, we’ve really have had unbalanced classes since Legion and the lack of diversity you see at high-end content furthers the point of a lack of attention this expansion has had and the complacency from the devs to neglect player feedback is the ultimate attrocity. Not to mention what classic has pulled from the live version and so on and so on.
Anger isn’t the right emotion you should infer. Disappointment and frustration is closer to what I feel if anything.
For all the vapid comments you have made I’ll address this one… The “community” on a wide range of topics have been “suggested”. People who work in an Ivory Tower have not been listening for quite some time. It’s only when there is a sharp drop in sub numbers do they make sweeping changes.
Again, the issue is trivial in the grand scheme of things and impacts a low number of people. A slight inconvenience that players need to deal with. The excuse it’s protecting people from bot farmers is a farce. Fishing bots alone ruined the economy and herbing bots are no better. The fact that somebody can run over and over again in OLD dungeon content is ridiculous. So ya, shenanigans to discouraging bots and shenanigans to it being a relevant problem that somebody is farming Botanica.
There isn’t an idea that is needed. Using the LFG tool SHOULD NOT CONTRIBUTE to a cooldown AT ALL. The end.
Rarety makes the item worth it. On a handful of days I march the 50 120’s in. It took years to get the Ulduar//ICC mount… To me, impeding access to the event for any time seems rather silly at this stage of the game. Go in, get nothing, repeat… The fact after 10 tries you have to sit there and wait for cooldowns to hit on something you queue for.
Yeah, I can see it if you are farming a transmog. I didn’t think about what the OP was doing, something related to the special event instance. I could see that being annoying if you have a ton of alts and the instances is quick.
There are countless bots doing far more damage everyday. Collecting a certain amount of Gold from a run is trivial.
Your argument is on par with a bank assigning guards to protect the bank pens and not the vault. That’s not even the worst part, because in all of your diatribe not once do you address or acknowledge this is a flaw with the LFG channel. That comes with a 30 min deserter buff and no way to reset the LFG content to redo. I’m over here talking about Baseball and you’re giving me mating habits of the Bonobo Monkey. You’re not even listening. Brings me to my next point…
First, you’re either having a reading comprehension problem or you’re being obstinate to change the narrative of the argument.
Next, I did give you constructive feedback. "There should be 0 cooldown added to anyone using the LFG channel who is doing a full clear of that content, however short it may be.
If that concept isn’t hitting home…
(LFG dungeon finder [timevalue = 0]) * (dungeon cooldown mechanic [timevalue = 1 hour) = 0 time added.
There is no reason to add a timer utilizing in game dungeon finder in a game that charges for live service.
^ Disagreement on that point is supporting a different narrative than you’re sharing. IF you think there is a bot out there farming Scarlet Monastery 100-300g per hour is breaking the game you are sadly mistaken.
In vanilla, I did this EXACT thing. I remember WHY Blizzard broke instance farming. You can make 9000-12000 an hour just being in the outside world w/o touching a dungeon. People set up bots to do exactly that.
Stop thinking you’re protecting the penny jar when people are taking Gold bricks from the warehouse. This “argument” is a joke and anybody watching you should question WHY you’re pushing a narrative that supports lazy programming.
I think there was (at least temporarily) a bug acting here, unless locked instances are counted across multiple characters. I logged into a fresh alt and queued for the Crown Company. Upon the queue completion, I tried to zone in and got “Too many instances”. Unless instances are counted across characters, this is erroneous behavior.
Anyway, I dropped group and queued again. A few minutes later, everything was fine and I never saw this again.
It’s on your account. Run 10 different characters in Chemical Co event, you’re 11th character will be locked till the CD timer from the first character goes away. Not a bug, just a dumb design.
My recollection from how this came about is the following:
Back in Vanilla, players discovered that you could zone in solo to Dire Maul, AOE the pack of little plants, then zone out and reset the instance.
This was found to be an efficient way of grinding mobs for exp. Far better than grinding random mobs out in the world.
However, each time a player did this, it created a new instance. And even after the player zoned out and reset, that new instance stayed there.
With dozens or hundreds of players doing this, each creating 30 or 40 instances an hour the server infrastructure of the time couldn’t handle it.
To fix the problem, Blizzard added an instance limit: characters could no longer enter more than 5 unique instances within a 1-hour time period.
The server infrastructure is much better today. Seems to me like this limit should be raised, or even eliminated. I could see how this could definitely kick in if you’re trying to farm any of the holiday bosses.
