Was hoping after the Maintenance, this would’ve been addressed, but Doomhowl is still broken for some players.
Same for me. It seems I stay logged on more if I stay in the character selection screen. Eventually it will still DC, but when I log into a character, just some seconds afterward and then boom DC.
This just sucks, I hope we get a blue post. I subbed mainly for hardcore and I can’t even play those toons. I feel ripped off. Some might say “just go play retail”. Sure I can do that, but hardcore is my preference.
Bit of an update, I was able to stay logged in on a lvl 1 bank alt for around 5 minutes before DCing. That is a first since these problems started a few days ago.
I tried to using vpn and it work but still risking
I also subbed just to play hardcore, for those who would say ‘just go play retail’, well I haven’t played retail for like 5 years and I’m not interested in learning a ‘new’ game. Just wanted to play hardcore and Doomhowl is where my characters are. 
Have you all put tickets in, in regards to this, I did a few days ago but have not received a response yet…
I’m kind of surprised to hear a VPN makes it work, would love to hear more about how this is a fix.
I got filed a bug, saying something’s wrong w their server… that was recommended to me when I was filing a ticket as well. Not sure either bc i really only play hardcore.

So, I just tried playing using my phones Hotspot - been connected for 45 minutes with no issues, makes me wonder what ISP’s we’re all using, my next step might be to call my ISP…
I wonder if this is influenced from the DDoS attacks prior. I have little knowledge of how these attacks work, but is it possible for there to be lingering affects?
Prior to the DDoS issues, I was having no problem with logging in. Sure once in awhile I would get a DC, but it wasn’t common.
Now I can’t play any of my toons on doomhowl.
Why am I able to log into fine on regular Anniversary Classic Servers or even hardcore Classic Era?
What makes doomhowl so unique that I can’t play on it anymore?
Connecting to any other realm or any other game works fine, its clearly an issue with the Doomhowl server.
Yep, can play Overwatch just fine, and any other realm works perfectly. Only Doomhowl disconnects. Something needs fixed on their end.
I’m worried it won’t be fixed, maybe even Blizz isn’t aware of why this is happening.
Also it seems to be a small minority of players that can’t connect to Doomhowl, judging from the small amount of posts here whom are discussing it and no reports of this issue being posted on the hardcore reddit either.
We are just “small potatoes” to Blizz.
Well checked an alt that I stopped lvling on Nightslayer.
No issues, logged into character.
I log out and try another alt I left on Dreamscythe. Works fine.
Go back to Doomhowl, log onto this mage…few seconds and DC.
sigh
I was really hoping to use my month of sub to lvl her up and a few other toons I have on Doomhowl.
Now I can’t even access them, and what is worse is there is no certainty if I can play this gnome mage again.
I could still play hardcore though if I switched to classic era, though the population is quite tiny and I really don’t want to start at lvl 1 again.
Well… here’s my update tonight…
I heard there were some DDOS attacks earlier today, my hopes were low logging in, first login, disconnected right away. Next attempt - i’ve been logged in for over 20 minutes without being kicked off - perhaps the DDOS attacks fixed something?

No way… 30 seconds after posting this (pre edit), i’m getting kicked off again.
Im getting kicked constantly as well. This is a Doomhowl issue and i believe since they revived characters its been like this. I even tried using a VPN connected to a US server but it didnt work. Normal hardcore servers work fine for me but the population rogut now is low.
Just wondering are we all located outside the US? Is this why its happening?
I’m in USA, and your right it is Doomhowl issue.
So the problem sure is not on my end, since rest of Classic works for me and so does Retail.
Has anyone tried reinstalling windows to get it to work?
Does anyone have work monitoring software on their machines that might be blocking traffic?
Chiming in to say I’m having the same issue. Only on Doomhowl. I can’t stay connected for longer than a minute. I’ve tried all the above mentioned steps with no success.
Been playing just fine on Doomhowl, no lag or DCs at all. don’t think its the server if it isn’t affecting everybody.
Have you tried clearing the dns cash?
