"You cannot transfer from a PvE realm to a PvP realm. Transfers from PvP to PvE are permitted."

lol sure botter. start counting those black lotuses and realize you cant bring all that with you

i already suggested that that not be allowed like 40 times  ty

and i also suggested you can just reroll kek

yeah and we went over why that isnt as simple as you make it seem boomer. now call ur nurse in to give u ur jello

lol stf u nerd. isnt it about that time of the night you get your lootion out and play with your gnome FEMALE warrior looooool

ā€œnerdā€ ā€œno changes:(ā€ LOL and no thats a few hours away

You know what’s real scummy, I transfered to a PVP realm from a PVE realm when it was brought into the shop and there was zero warning ahead of time I’d be locked into pve.

I don’t think they have this rule on retail wow, so wtf?

Happened to me, transfered to a PVE realm to help out some friends, tried to eventually go back to my PVP realm to continue raiding with muh guild aaaaannd I can go fhuck myself.
Activision fix your game!

What should be allowed is a a PVP to PVE transfer, then allow that character to also transfer back to a PVP server (if at the same level).

Tbh there really isn’t a great reason for it not to exist. Its just the way it was back in the day so thats the way it is now. I think they eventually allowed them in WOTLK.

At this point, there is no reason for it. It used to be about the game experience and the ease of leveling toons on a PvE server versus a PvP server. However, with such disparities between server populations those reasons are a moot point.

The best example I can provide is that you can transfer to a tiny server and grind up to R14 trivially, and then transfer back to a larger server 3 months later and use the title / gear there.

You can also do the same thing to farm materials such as Black Lotus which have limited spawn quantities per day in the open world. Leveling in the open world has become trivialized by run selling and exp boosting. The restriction is no longer necessary.

Just because something is in Retail doesn’t mean it should be applied to Classic. Ever since BC, Alliance could be Shamans, and Horde could be Paladins. This is not the case for Classic.

Retail’s ā€œPvP Serversā€ aren’t even ā€œPvP Serversā€, anymore. A Retail Player must actively toggle Warmode in order to ā€œPvPā€, out in the open world. This is not the case for Classic. If a Classic player chooses a PvP Server, they will be ā€œforcedā€ into that ā€œPvP Styleā€ environment.

im all for restrictions to be removed

I didn’t know this was a thing but I love it.

Here’s my take-

I leveled from 1-60 and eventually to 65 on grobb. Swapped to bloodsail temporarily to play with my friend. He’s since quit and I’d like to go back to my home server and guild-but supposedly that’ll never happen.

I think Blizz should remove this function entirely, or make an exception for people who DID level on a pvp server and want to go back.

Regardless of your opinions on this I think we can all agree that when you are swapping from pvp to pve there should be a warning that this is a one-way trip and you will never be able to enjoy pvp on your main again.

Instead of ā€œoh yeah you’ll have to remake that character you’ve been playing since launch day lmfaoā€

I have two 70s and two 60s on a pvp server and one 70 on a pve server. I dont play on the pve server at all recently, so that character is just collecting dust. I’m not going to play on the pve server since my guild and all my friends are on the pvp server that Im playing on.

Its a stupid restriction, most people buy boost and dungeon grind to 70 or pay a mage to powerlevel them anyway, so all this nonsense about ā€œeasy levellingā€ is just a meme

yeah let’s just throw all the rules out the window because of boosties.

well you shouldn’t just be hopping from one realm to another so casually anyway. temporarily to play with a friend? lol. realm transfers are supposed to be a major decision. if you do it quick without thinking, well, too bad.

You’re so dramatic. I leveled, open-world, 5 alliance characters to 60 on Whitemane and 1 horde character on Fairbanks. Both full/high population PVP servers, and it was not nearly as hard as your claim. Multiple corpse runs to do anything in BRM, but that’s about it.

If someone came from a PVE realm for endgame content, I say cool, more people to fill the guild roster.

even 1 corpse run means PvP is harder than PvE, and thus no, you can’t transfer PvE → PvP.
