The net result will be to reduce participation and increase toxicity. Thanks to Blizzard again for making me glad I didn’t buy this expansion.
I mean I’m kinda for this, maybe even penalize serial leavers harder, yet I doubt this is intended. More than likely a bug in the end.
someone said they decreased the timers and the loss in IO is the system correcting what your raider io score should be based off the correct timeline which makes sense to me
I guess you might get your score corrected even if you’re doing a different dungeon than whatever they just nerfed the timer on. That makes some sense to me.
you don’t think it would encourage players to play better? as in come prepared, know how to optimize their character/talents, play within their skill range, etc.?

i think they’d have to make up for it by putting a bit more in the end-of dungeon chest if they foce people to stay for failed runs. cuz if you’re not gonna time, might as well leave anyway as it would yield the same results
Not at all…it would encourage instantly leaving when it becomes clear that the key is bricked.

like in RTS games, when you know you’re gonna lose, you don’t wait for the other player to destroy all your buildings & units…just surrender and gg out. it’s actually considered bad mannered to waste another players’ time like that. ![]()
i think M+ comes to a point where that is true - especially after +20’s - where “completion” doesn’t grant any bonus IO.
Week 1 on low keys, or gearing weeks, i agree with you though.
the system also exists in other small-party content like rated PvP…this isn’t a major complaint on that side of things so idk…are PvE players just too sensetive for that? ![]()

No. The players you think will dramatically improve will just stop doing mythic+ after taking abuse from hotheads who have even more to lose than before. It’s a major incentive not to do mythic+ at all unless you’re a top player in a permanent pro group.
We will see. The participation data will be available. I think participation will drop off a cliff. Players who already don’t know what they’re doing wrong and don’t know how to train themselves to be esports pros aren’t suddenly, magically going to become super duper players.

Same thing happens with card games, esp with the actual cards. If someone’s gonna combo off and both people know it’s gonna end with a win it’s better to save time and scoop.
Complaining about inflated scores that you achieved with help
I did more than 150 keys between 2-14 in S1 not including the ones that were bricked.
All of those keys were to help out pugs/friends and have a different experience to the usual gogogo mentality when I was feeling burnt out from doing the higher keys.
If I’m going to be losing io for helping people then I’d stop doing lower keys altogether.
I’d stop doing low keys in general…I mean losing io for helping the community is a big kick in the nuts.
