This type of scenario happened even in wod. People would unequip gear to lower their ilvl.

Thats why you go off gear in bags, which I seem to recall it doing at one point
Happens everytime they add boost to max level. At least it’s not as awful as Mists where you could two shot a booster. The team with the most boosts would lose automatically pretty much.
Is this a real question?
1/2 the people that cry about low ilvl don’t even play objectives or peel for their healers.

People whine about low ILVLS in random BGs, live in a fantasyland where the other side doesn’t have to deal with the same thing.

They were talking about people with no gear. This happened in the past. To answer you seriously, trolls would do it. They would equip low ilvl gear to make them pretty useless.
