“You’re sending the Worgen? Shiiiiip Gazlowe! That’s all you had to say!”
No, stop shaming her for her desire to show her feet off.
Now you mention, Alleria does remind me a bit of the main character from Kill Bill.
Faerin: “Tell me, what does the Arathi Emperor look like?”
There’s a character like that in the Rogue class hall in Legion.

How can anyone say now this isn’t on purpose?
…
Maybe one of the devs or artists does have a foot fetish.
Judging by all the responses in this thread, it clearly IS a problem.
Clearly, the only answer to fix this gratuitous offense is to replace her feet with bowls of fruit in all of her future cutscenes.
I mean, I’m pretty sure the Overwatch ad is straight up joking rather than pulling a sneaky on us.
Sort of like the Dick Grayson’s butt jokes.
Also pretty sure it’s a reference to the style of footwear.
I’m also shocked that no one is talking about the ears or those lips or my gods the eyes… or hair let us not forget that throughout history and the modern world hair, especially female hair, has been very fetishized.
The things you learn about when trying to understand why people wear head coverings around the world…
Those body parts aren’t getting regular close-ups.
Or to use another example; look back when WoW characters like Jaina, Sylvanas, Ysera and Alexstraza wore belly-baring outfits (Ysera’s Night Elf form even had a navel ring). Imagine if there were scenes that included close ups of their bare midriffs like the close-ups of Xal’ataths feet. Would it be reasonable to suspect there was a fetish then?
I dunno, I thought they were going for something similar to this with some of their shots;

It’s funny to talk about. It’s also perfectly fine and a pretty harmless fetish. super common for interesting reasons.
But the reality is probably more that, as an artist, when you learn how to do feet, you kinda want to all the time. They are like a puzzle box that, once you discover the secrets of them, you just want to keep opening it up.
Feet are like hands. They can be very expressive. There are so many interesting poses. They are very dynamic. Hovering characters don’t need their feet on the ground so you can make them even more interesting. They make a good focal point.
I’m a big fan of the midriff armor from the pre-cata era, but midriffs don’t offer as much artistic value.
That one is one of the most bad-faith posters I’ve ever seen. I’ve also seen them just spam liking posts that disagree with me. It’s creepy, just like the shots of Xal’atath.
I kinda felt the cinematic with Khadgar and Alleria did this but I’m not sure.
Who, Nightsong? It is creepy behavior, to be blunt.
I didn’t think of that. I’m not sure either. Did you mean this one?
Dark Heart In-Game Cinematic | Dragonflight | World of Warcraft (youtube.com)
Yes, and yes.
Nobody’s talking about how the Blizzard staff is just riddled with face fetishists. Faces everywhere. Also, hair, arms, shoulders, knees, stomachs. Body parts galore. It’s awful, I tell you. We need to go back to 8-bit block characters, for the children!
I honestly though that the whole purpose of the focus of her flotting feet was to illustrate aloofness and when she lands to talk to the dying nerubian queen was to show some sort of showing pity or level with her to mock/amonish her defeat… but I never thought it was a fetish lol!
Maybe it was both lol… way back (it’s been more than 15 years wow I’m old) I use to know a guy who had this weird fetish with feet and the girl he married he married her because she had the most beautiful feet in his opinion! It was funny and weird but though it was a unique trait of his… I guess I was wrong, there are more people who like this stuff… what a small world we live in! lol
Those merch art and statues of Xal better make those feet look perfect if the want to sell LMAO!!!
Most of those body parts aren’t getting the attention Xal’atath’s feet got. Then again, since you said “stomachs”, as I said in a previous comment;
See, that’s the thing. When characters like Alexstrasza, Ysera and Sylvanas show their bellies it’s ‘hot’ and ‘sexy’.
When abominations (quite literally) show their bellies its ‘disgusting’ and ‘vomit-inducing’
I’m so sick and tired of these double standards.
I think China is pretty consistent that both are unacceptable.
Well and where I come from (Ebon Hold) both are acceptable and beautiful.
