For that he needed to win and enter our reality so cause actual damage and b e a threat to Azeroth.
You are literally the only person I have ever say that. He was a cardboard cutout that just boomed canned lines in a generic “I’m evil” voice. He was not an antagonist, he was a plot device to allow for anduin and sylvanas moments.
Shadowlands had no factions involved so it was impossible to ruin the Horde any further.
It had more faction involvement via some very important NPCs from both sides being involved on either side and the expac managing to ruin several of them more than we thought would be possible
Dragonflight was easily the closest we got to a true Faction Neutral expansion. Until the last patch/season that is.
Well sorry if I hate seeing all the leaders Killed I rooted before just because Blizzard needed more villains and NOW we have only Thrall left and no one else.
Zovaal is basically Jiren from Dragon Ball Super but evil.
Generic grey looking villain with no personality or character.
Since the previous post got memory-holed, let me reiterate. Tell me what people think of Season 8 of Game of Thrones? That show began great but started going downhill in Season 5. I didn’t see a lot of people cheering at how Dany was killed.
I said that because one of the former devs in charge of those expansions was also charged with sexual harassment.
Lots of people did. She was Targaryen mad. She had to be put down. Cry more
More people complained about how sloppy it was depicted. And you didn’t answer my question; What do people think of Season 8 of Game of Thrones? How popular is it compared to the other seasons?
Season 8 was a dumpster fire, like WoD and Shadowlands.
He was more fleshed out in the manga and had a personality.
But he was basically zovaal in the anime, yeah.
As a matter of fact, S8 had highest ratings at HBO and three of its episodes are higher-rated than some of HOTD S2 episodes.
So you will acknowledge that HOTD S2 is as bad if not worse than GOT S8? I mean, you love ratings so much.
For the record, S8 and the Show-runners did not need the love of the people to get all those awards and recognition.
While Xal’atath is a very interesting villain with a lot of building blocks and solid foundation, I feel that the bigger setup and payoff might be Iridikron.
Iridikron has 2 possible payoffs considering what DF set up, either he is just a pawn in xal’s game, and will be cut off soon, or he is actually using her and the void forces to actually push his own agenda and will be succesful.
But keeping on topic, I also like that they’re taking their time to build villains. The issue with the Jailer is that he simply appeared and took credit of everything that has happened, while with Xal’atath, we are seeing her work firsthand since legion.
I don’t think the former will happen simply because Iridikron does not really give a damn about the void. He just gave Xal’atath the Dark Heart and is now waiting until the Titans return. What Xal’atath does that forces them to return is none of his concern. So the latter is what is most likely going to happen. He is simply using the void as a means to get his revenge on the Titans. He says this outright to Vyranoth.
Iridikron: It seems your courage has not faltered, despite abandoning our war.
Vyranoth: That war is over, Iridikron. It was you who abandoned our cause, who abandoned Fyrakk to his own destruction. All for some trinket Neltharion left behind.
Iridikron: The Darkheart is no mere trinket.
Iridikron: Its power now lies in the Harbinger’s hands.
Vyranoth: The Void cannot be trusted.
Iridikron: I trust it’s hunger. You know the Titans infected our world, and I will see them extinguished.

Every time I see that I wanna ask him “Hey, so… have you ever heard of the Black Empire?”
He says to Vyranoth that he is aware of the voids hunger, but doesn’t care as long as the void wipes away what the titans did to Azeroth
Yeah… but it is weird he is apparently fine with the alien lovecraftian tentacle empire that came before, which arguably seems like it did nearly as much damage. Its just the dragons were not around then.
Clearly they do not teach history in dragon school. Or else he plans to do the same thing to the Void as well.
Just punch void lords in the nose after he gets done socking the titans.
I want Iridikron to be a big villain so bad.
He just nails the scheming Villain that also got hands vibe so well.
Knowing how idikron is? That’s probably would be his next goal. Assuming he survives when he shows up in The Last Titan that is
Thus proving you have no reading comprehension… because the entire frelling list of characters I made were specifically characters that were never evil in the first place. That was the trend. Proven over and over and over and over again. Anduin “was” a marketed main character, even for the expansion where he appeared as the raid boss. That is “EXACTLY” what can be done to Alleria… with the plot elements of the void revenant inside her, and the whisper about her third death, and the caveat that she only controls that revenant as long as her mind is calmed. The questing campaign with Alleria and Xal’atath in Ahj’kahet so far are proving that buildup exactly.
Xal’atath had Domination Runes on her Dagger From and the Elementals she uses not only use the Death Elemental Model but use Death Bolt, Death Nova and Death Rain as attacks!
She isn’t of Void but of Death!
Which form of Death? Who would the Primus seal within a Dagger with his Domination Magic? Who is the one Eternal One who does not treat the other Eternal Ones as family? The Winter Queen… Therefore Xal’atath might be her predecessor.
At least we have an idea of why the Winter Queen brushes off Bwomsamdi despite his help: She doesn’t want him to know that she is a different Winter Queen.
The Beledar also reacts to Alleria telling Xal’atath to cease her illusions so Beledar is likely where her Body and the Summer Court which turns to Winter is found.
As for the matter of her Eye:
“The blind queen wields a scepter of bone. From the deep, she calls forth doom.” - Il’gynoth
She had her Eye removed and sealed bound with Domination.
As for how the reveal will be pulled off? No idea.
